What Is The Hardest Job You Have Ever Held?

My current job..I'm getting too old for this shit!

I dove offshore in the oilfields as a younger man, went to alot of funerals! It was a great exsperience but no , I never want to go back!

Being a parents. Hardest but best job ever!

Worked on an oil rig outside of Casper Wyoming

Hard long hours...extremely dirty...great pay

I know there are some jobs that physically I cannot do. But to demand that I do them when they know I can't is what I call violating my rights because they know if I can't do it then they can find away to get rid of me. I'd rather shovel horseshit, lmao! I can deal with that.

I used to work in a grocery warehouse...

The "cold side"...

For 12 hours, you worked in temps ranging from -30f to 40f.

Basically "grocery shopping" for grocery stores.

Pulling cases of beef, ice cream, frozen foods and produce.

Always cold,
Always wet,
Always moving,
Always lifting,
12 hours straight...

That was the "hardest job"...

I feel for ya, that is some kinda BS!

Self employed as owner of small business. Did this for 10 years. Could never call in sick or decide to play for the day. Hours were long and the job physically exhausting.

My friends thought I had it made. They had no idea of how difficult my life was while doing this.

My life was nothing but business and very little fun.

Nope.....don't want to do that again.

I always hated stocking the dairy case, all that milk sweat makes you stink.

Well, that is if you want to be successful. They always tell you it's all about sacrifices. Sounds like you felt as though you were thinking it should have been easier than this.

I did electro-magnetometer surveys for a mining exploration company in the seventies..

Dropped off by helicopter in the woods for two weeks at a location @ -40 degrees.
Had to cut lines through the brush for a square mile grid before doing the survey.

Hell no... never again.

Beating the slaves has caused me to throw out my shoulder and hips on many occasions...

Working on McDonalds....seriously. Worst job, ever

Renting my body to the missionaries when I was about 14/15.

when i was 18 i worked for a call center. it was the most inhuman thing ever. i had to help people pick prices for points they earned. a phone call was supposed to be delt with in 3 minutes (even tho the people wanted to know EVERY possible thing they could get for free or at discount) and my direct leader was a 35 year old super fat girl that was obviously single that would tell me i had to do better?
lol. like, how..

anyway. in my second week i went to the bathroom to call a friend and when i came back she asked me why i was away so long and that bathroom breaks shouldnt be longer than 5 minutes max. (trust me it wasnt a LONG talk. about the time of a number 2)
so i said "yea well what if im feeling sick but didnt want to call in sick?" she said something along the lines of "make sure you do it in time, next time"
i just laughed at her and the idea of working in a cubicle. giving away "free" stuff that the people paid for anyway. having a boss that was in no way superior to me whatsoever.
it was just a joke. so i laughed at her and walked to my cubicle and got my stuff. she asked what i was doing so i said i was leaving. she then thought she was hard telling me "i might not have to come back in the morning" wich made me laugh again. so i told her i was leaving and not planning on comming back. she said i couldnt do that. so i laughed again imagining her calling security to hold me there and force me to work. haha wich obviously wouldnt happen. so i told her good bye and left. never to come back.
all she said than was (it was in dutch obivously) something along the lines of i would still have to work for them for another month. wich made me laugh again.

i walked out. got paid another month and never returned.

also the best day ever.
now i do work i like alot.

Car battery Recycling plant. Unloading flatbed trucks stacked four and five high of them. Outside, all year. Nights winter, days summer. Trucks would come in frozen solid. Respirators, monthly blood tests. It was hell, but paid well.
p.s. My foremen died there a year after I left, in an explosion.

Hardest job I have ever had? That is easy. When I was Director of Logistics at Walmart Corporate. It was also the most rewarding job I ever had. Would I go back to it? Sure, if I wasnt retired.
