My understanding -- they care about the planet, not so much about humanity. They'll likely allow a few to detonate to teach us, much like a parent has to stand back and allow their child to make mistakes, much as it hurts, because of free will. But they will not allow annihilation of the earth. Earth will carry on with or without humanity.

I have to agree, this is somewhat true. I have no idea what they are, but i am seeing them quite often. Saw a massive bright light very early a few mornings ago when about to go to work, it went above the crescent moon which was clear so it must of been huge.
