Significant Severe Weather Possible Early Next Week/Texas-Oklahoma/Kansas April 8-9th
[link to www.weatherstorm.net]

Tornado Alley looks like it will be finally waking up very soon. In fact, computer models have been consistently showing the potential for something significant beginning around the April 8th time-frame in the Southern Plains. Both the GFS and Euro computer models have been showing a longwave trough setting up to the west of the Plains and eject a series of shortwave troughs onto the Southern Plains and the South. Warm/moist air will stream north from the Gulf of Mexico with the return of Spring time weather across the south will occur over the weekend and into next week. This will mix with a developing surface low coming out of the Rocky Mountains could develop the risk for severe weather across tornado alley. We are becoming more confident that this will take place on April 8th and 9th across the Southern Plains, but it is still too early to define exactly where the biggest risk for severe weather will be. The general area will be from Texas to Kansas and eastward early next week.

Only from a distance. I grew up on the Northern end of tornado alley. One skipped over our house and hit the next town up the road when I was a kid. We got dry-slotted from the last storm. Just got some drizzle and tumbleweeds.

All I've got in so far are a couple of grapes, 7 raspberries, rhubarb and some hostas. I'm afraid we'll get one more freeze yet, so I'll hold off on the peas and such until next weekend, I think.

good idea,it dont take much for getting those seeds ta pop..thats all i really use my greenhouse for.

I have a big oak that blocks the sun from mid-day on so if i leave my plants in to long they get leggy.

I run a cheap heater for seeds ta pop from the heat and off to the front yard in planters until i till(all day sun)but when the temps are only getting into the low 50s its hard ta get anything growing.

Goodbye, halcyon days...

There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable.

There is another theory mentioned, which states that this has already happened.
