Sometimes even Satanic or blasphemous Nope, because I don't watch it. But I wouldn't be surprised if they decided to take aim at things like religion more often to find more material. The show has been sucking badly for years. Rumour has it that I was not born, I just walked in one frosty morn, into the vision of some vacant mind. |

Quoting: + Sparrow and Medicine + I stopped watching this show & basically tv ingeneral years ago and the only reason I know about this is just from watching clips of episodes on the net & from other research I do. I've watched episodes of the simposns in the past 4 or so years but it's more so for investigating purposes than it is entertainment. |

Sometimes even Satanic or blasphemous The Simpsons struggles because values are changing by the minute thus renderibg any real honest attempt at satire or humour null and void, theres only so many times you can drink from the well until the well is dry and you start eating mud, it's a race to the bottom and they are unparalleled in being on the wrong side. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 37494121 Well that's one way to look at it I suppose. You do realize that the writers of this show are all graduates of Harvard and extremely intillegent people. They didn't seem to have any problem finding attempts at humor or satire when the show first appeared over 20 years ago and was actually at the time considerd to be a catalyst of sorts of what was to come , which you just described as "values changing by the minute" . The show is a supposed to be a fictional cartoon which gives it range to do or say almost anything so I wouldn't say they are suffering from "the well running dry" either. They have endless material with today's society and they can present it & satire it any number of ways they choose. They just choose a certain way. I think you could even argue that this show has contributed to society's ever changing ways. The show had played a major role in the paridigm which has existed in the US & abroad for the past 20 years. If anyone thinks it has no influence on the majority of its viewers I would beg to differ. |

Sometimes even Satanic or blasphemous I'm gonna start posting some examples of what I'm trying to say. Some of the videos I've found were made by people who seem to notice what I am saying , to a degree , but still have no idea what it means. |

Sometimes even Satanic or blasphemous Not only Simpsons but alot of adult cartoons have been getting darker when it comes to religion. Matt Groening, Trey Parker, Seth McFarland are all big time atheists or agnostic. Pretty much all of animation domination from Fox. Its a shame that so many children watch these "cartoons." Quoting: Anonymous Coward 5961776 I chose the Simpsons because it has a much bigger influence on a larger ammount of people than any other cartoon or show that I can think of off the top of my head, atleast as far as cartoons it's Probobly the most influential. |

Sometimes even Satanic or blasphemous I think an episode that needs to be looked at closer is the 23rd Tree House of Horror episode which aired on Nov 7 , 2012. It usually airs on Halloween but non the less it is a Halloween special but the point I'm trying to make is that Halloween is the favorite and one of the most important days of the year for satanists. One of the producers of this episode even decided to add " 23 shades of gray" in the middle of his name , as a joke ..? The hour long special contains four stories all of which are worth exploring. I have some theories on acouple of them that I might start another thread about. So to stay on topic I will point out some things which will seem more obvious. Besides all of the 23 references there's a story in the episode called , The Greatest Story Ever Holed, which is a play on acouple of things , atleast. First one is the episodes story line which consists of a Black Hole, hence ..Greatest Story ever HOLED. Now this is also a play on the title of another episode from which is titled "The Greatest Story Ever D'ohed" It aired on March 28, 2010 (Palm Sunday and the eve of Passover). In this episode, the Simpsons vacation in Israel with Ned Flanders, but Homer does not appreciate any of the culture—until an Israeli tour guide named Jakob shows him around and, in a severe state of dehydration, Homer believes he is the Messiah. Tree house of horror episode 23 The Greatest story ever Doehd! Aired on PALM SUNDAY 2010 |
