Yeah, gravity waves are NOT what those are called.

Gravity waves cannot be seen with the naked eye. They are theoretical in existence.

The only time they should be somewhat easily observable by instrumentation we have today is if two black holes were spinning around each other hundreds of times per second, and the two event-horizons breached each other, and the two black holes collapsed into one black hole.

This would cause such a gravitational disturbance that actual waves of gravity would be formed and would propagate outwards from the event.

So what would you call the weather incident that caused this ship to get ripped from the moorings? Seems it was a combination of a freak wave and high winds that they are calling a "gravity wave."

First of all...."Gravity Wave" is a term used in Fluid dynamics and Meteorology", but they have nothing to do with Gravity.

Second: Although Gravity waves can be formed in both the ocean and the atmosphere, that cloud video isnt a video of Gravity waves. Thats a video of Undulatus Clouds.

Well, I thought I better add to that....I said they dont have anything to do with gravity. Thats not completely true. Of course Gravity plays a part in their formation. But it really isnt the cause of it. They are usually formed by wind and something like a mountain or island breaking that constant flow of wind

Third incident since January. One of my friends works on it and is now waiting an additional who knows how long to get back on board, finish out their contract and move on with life.
