My best friend of 13 years just died. (DOG). Is there any evidence they survive and cross to the other side?

Google for dog ghost stories. You'll find hundreds. People have souls and make ghosts. So do dogs. And God takes care of all loving souls.

When my dog passed away, we heard barking in the back yard, and there were no other dogs living around us. Also, I couldn't walk through the spot where he used to sleep because I felt him and his energy there for weeks after he died.

I'm so sorry, I know how you feel. My Yorkie passed away 10/11/12 after almost 15 years, and I was devastated. Similar feeling as I had when my niece was murdered or when my father died.

I believe in the Bible so this scripture helped some. Also the fact that it talks about animals in heaven.

If you don't believe, I know this won't help though.

Hebrews 11:1 Faith: The substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Someone told me that a piece of my heart died to, but it was a piece created by my dog, so it was hers to take.

Finally, a couple of months ago, I got another Yorkie/Maltese mix. I didn't think/know if it would help, but it did. At first after her death though, another dog was out of the question. It took about 3-4 months. I still miss her, but I love my new baby.

Yes OP, the souls of animals go directly to heaven when they die.

Some people don't believe there are animals in heaven, but the book of Revelation speaks of white horses in heaven and the book of Enoch tells that the souls of animals testify before God as to how they were treated while on earth.

I have absolutely no doubt that your friend is in heaven right now.

Re: My best friend of 13 years just died. (DOG). Is there any evidence they survive and cross to the other side?
The following is a true story, it happened to me.
One of our dogs snuck out and got hit one evening, I heard the thud but didnt understand it immediatley and none of the traffic made any indication of anything wrong, no brake lights, squealing tires, or pulling off the road.
It took til the next day to find the body in spite of looking for it with the police who had been called about a dog being hit. I found the dog with its neck broke.
An acquaintance who claims to be a medium was engaged soon after in conversation and it was mentioned that we had a recent loss.\She thought for a bit, then described what happened, that the car that hit the dog didnt stop or hit the brekes, and it was the passenger that called the police, that the dog had died intantly and didnt suffer and THE OTHER DOG WAS MISSING THE LOSS OF ITS FRIEND.

She had no information of the kind of pet, the number of pets or the incident which otherwise drew no local attention, and anyway, the woman is not local.

If something like that is important enough to happen to an anmal, I think they are important enough to wait for us as well. Maybe not, but I think they do progress as humans can.
The sad fact is that in many human lives, their dogs or other pets are the best thing they have to look forward to.
Your friend will be there for you, you will see.

I'm very sorry for the loss of your sweet friend. I have had many pets over the years and if you believe people carry on past their earthly death then pets do as well. This may sound silly to some, but look for him in the clouds. He will appear in a younger form, possibly playing. It all depends on what you believe. When you get past some of the sadness, I hope you open your heart to another pet that could use a great home and bring joy to you.

As I sit reading this thread, my faithful beagle is lying at my feet and looking up at me with her deep soulful eyes. I cannot imagine a God who would damn her soul to oblivion after she dies.

C. S. Lewis speculated on the eternal fate of animals in The Problem of Pain, suggesting that at least tame animals might enter heaven through their relationship with humans, in the same way that humans do through their relationship with Christ.

Read Bhagavad-Gita, As It Is, translated by A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami. Believe me, it explains ALL about the souls inhabiting these bodies here in the Material World, and we do all eventually make it back to the Spiritual World, where we came from. We are out of our element here. All souls are alike, only the souls inhabiting dog's bodies at this time have their intelligence covered over more than we.

We are all one. We all return to one. Love binds us inseparably throughout creation, time is irrelevant, they were always with you and always will be, in love. In ourselves. In Others. In all. Let them smile upon you, even as they did in life and they will. Love them and carry them with you, because that is all they ever wanted. Life is a temporary gift, he connections made through Love are eternal. Life is fluid and changes shape, that is simply its way, we must also be able to change with it, holding no expectations, but receiving that which is necessary to grow. Life is never ended, just its perception of what is grows.

There are many paths we walk together, but many lessons must be learned on ones own.

I have no doubt you will be with your friend again, because he is with you now and forever, within an existence of infinite possibility and love.

Why the hell not? The bible speaks of Lions and Lambs getting along in the hereafter. It may be symbolic. But I think the good book would stipulate a hard "no" if it were the case.

When people are looking at biblical doctrine...hard liners often see it with the glass half empty viewpoint...not half full. If all sadness, and pain are removed, in "heaven" does it really matter? Also, on that same note; how could sadness and pain be eliminated if we are missing those we love? Is their existence wiped even from the mind of your soul?

Good questions that there are no answers for.

I believe on the Buddhist belief system, and in other perhaps, 'we' go from mineral>plant>animal kingdom>man. Reaching 'man' we have 108 lifes to reach 'enlightnement' or start over.

I'm not an expert on that and it was pretty succint so read with care tounge

Anyways, I'm of the opinion that dead dogs do not 'ascend' tounge

I had a dog too, she was with me for all I could remember, her name was 'Gaia' and she died at age twelve.

Absolutely! The soul perceives, thinks, feels, and makes decisions and choices. In man, the soul can also cause sin. God gave man the choice to choose sin or righteousness, to worship himself or God.

The lesser animals were not given this choice. God put them under the protection and dominion of man.

Do Animals Have a Spirit?
The word "spirit" (ruach in Hebrew) means "wind, breath -- the living power of God's will at work." The spirit is the essence and will of God given to all humans and animals.

Below are some excerpts from Bible Scripture.

Job 12:10
In his hand is the life of every living thing and the breath of all mankind.
Genesis : 9, 13-17
I have set My rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth.
Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will remember my covenant between Me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life.
Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth."
So God said to Noah, "This is the sign of the covenant I have established between Me and all life on the earth."

Revelation 5:13
"And EVERY creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and ALL that are in them, hear I saying, "Blessing, and honor, and glory, and power, be unto Him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the lamb forever and ever."

Matthew 10:29
"Are not two sparrows sold for a cent? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father."

Genesis : 9, 13-17
The same fate awaits man and animals alike.

(Ecclesiastes 3:18-21 TEV)
"I decided that God is testing us, to show us that we are no better than animals. After all, the same fate awaits man and animals alike. One dies just like the other. They are the same kind of creature. A human being is no better off than an animal, because life has no meaning for either. They are both going to the same place -- the dust. They both came from it; they will both go back to it. How can anyone be sure that a man's spirit goes upward while an animal's spirit goes down into the ground?"

The Soul
(Job 12:9-10 KJV)
The Book of Job says: "Who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the Lord hath wrought this? In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind."

Animals are Innocent
(Romans 8:21-22 KJV)
"Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now."

Noah and the Ark
God decided to destroy the world with a flood. However, He found one man named Noah who, along with his family, was righteous before Him. God decided to save Noah and his family and at least one pair of each kind of animal.

There are seven accounts of God's covenant with both man and animals concerning our survival on planet Earth as long as the earth remains. It says, in part, in the original DOUAY-RHEIMS version:

Genesis 9:8-16
"...Thus also said God to Noe (Noah), and to his sons with him, behold, I establish my covenant with you and with your seed after you;
And with every living soul that is with you, as well in all birds as in cattle and beasts of the earth, that are come forth out of the ark, I will establish my covenant with you, and all flesh shall be no more destroyed with the waters of a flood.

And God said: This is the sign of the covenant which I give between me and you, and to every living soul that is with you, for perpetual generations. And I will remember my covenant with you, and with every living soul that beareth flesh: and there shall no more be waters of a flood to destroy all flesh. And the bow shall be in the clouds, and I shall see it, and shall remember the everlasting covenant that was made between God and every living soul of all flesh which is upon the earth."

Animals in Heaven
Revelations19:11
Then I saw Heaven opened, and behold, a white horse.

Proverbs 12:10
"A righteous man cares for the needs of his animal."

Psalms 50:10-11
"Every animal of the forest is mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills. I know every bird in the mountains, and the creatures of the field are mine."

Job 12:7-10
"Ask the animals, and they will teach you."

Revelation 5:8-13
All creatures recognize Jesus as the Savior of the world and praise God right along with redeemed men.

Psalm 145:-9-10,13,15-21 AMP
Though all creatures are subject to man's cruelty, God loves all His creation and has made plans for all His children and the lesser creatures to enjoy His eternal Kingdom.

Romans 8:19 (KJV)
The lesser creatures await Christ's return to redeem the sons of God so they, too, will be released from physical death to eternal life.

Revelation 5:13 KJV
And every creature which is in heaven, and on earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying. Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.

Romans 8:21-22 KJV
Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.

Re: My best friend of 13 years just died. (DOG). Is there any evidence they survive and cross to the other side?
Having been surrounded by a menagerie of pets my entire life...and a follower of Christ...this question has come to my mind more than once when I lost one of my dear "friends."

I think of it in this way. The Bible tells us that Heaven is even more glorious than we can imagine. It speaks of mansions there...vineyards...gentle lions, lambs, harmless serpents, etc so we know animals are there. We know it has many earth-experience type aspects.

There are no reasons in the Bible that speak to pets NOT being there. No, they do not have souls exactly like ours...but, then, I am not suggesting that the pets enter Heaven to receive their reward either (because they are not guilty of sin that they had to seek redemption of/overcome). I am suggesting that maybe, just maybe, a part of YOUR reward is for your pet to be with you in your mansion in Heaven...trailing behind you in those vineyards....by your side as you sing praises to our Lord.

Many, with good intentions may respond with little hope for this scenario. They may be correct, or I might be. But, I caution you, in your grief, not to let those on this board with empty, cold hearts to sadden you further with their intentionally cruel answers.

The fact is, I am guessing your departed pet had more love and compassion for others than several humans on glp. Sad.

At the same time, there will be many here that will (and HAVE) seek to comfort you (a stranger) and that shows the true LOVE of Christ.... A Savior who states He is working right this minute on preparing a place for those that love Him.

Nothing in the Bible states that you cannot ask Him to consider allowing your wee companion to be there waiting for you when you go home!
