lmao
Rumour has it that I was not born,
I just walked in one frosty morn,
into the vision of some vacant mind.

I'm so sorry for your loss. What a sweet cutie he was. Each and every time that one of my best furry little four legged friends pass on, I go through the same devastation, as do their friends/siblings with whom they share life. One thing I know for sure is that their spirits are still connected with ours. I can't speak to them going to heaven, as I really have no memory of this place referred to as heaven. What I do know is that animals grieve the same way that we do. They will also make their spirits known at times. I have felt a cat jump onto my bed numerous times and look to see one of my cats, but they are asleep in the other room. Sometimes I feel one rubbing up against my leg, and there is no cat there when I reach down to pet it. There has been times when I've heard that familiar meow, but oh so faint. My cats will look around as if to acknowledge the presence of another spirit. These things have happened far too many times to be attributed to imagination, and usually occur at times when I'm very relaxed, open, and not thinking of the pet at that time.

Anyone who says that animals have no soul is a lower level dense individual who most certainly has not had much experience with or ever loved an animal. You can look right through their eyes to their soul, FFS. and this quote by Robert Browning sums it up for me ... God forbid that I should go to any heaven in which there are no horses. For that matter, cats, dogs and all of the animal kingdom should be there to greet me, or else count me out!

So sorry you are going through this. I know what it is like. But I would like to share that my dog that I lost about 4 years ago, a few months after she passed away, I did hear him bark in the house once. There were no other dogs in the house, and, my daughter did see her in our living room about 6 months later in the spot where she usually slept. I would continue to talk to your dog. I feel that such an intelligent and loving animal lives on. Very nice picture. Wishing you happy memories of your pet.

I used to work in a Pet cemetery OP , the funeral services I saw and attended were all done with love and dignity ,above the gates to the cemetery was this poem burnt into a plaque .
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I know it is not as good as being with him but if there is an afterlife I hope you meet him again, I have a "dog" buried there and miss him everyday ,and my other dog is getting older when she goes it will hurt too .hf

I believe they do continue their journey, just like we do. Your friend is still around, and feels the same love for you that you feel. It doesn't just stop.

I am so very sorry about your loss but I am so happy about what you HAD. 13 years of undying devotion and love. Awesome!
Your pet has made room for you to select one of the many, many other loving animals that need a home to enjoy your love and care.
I cannot imagine our loving God not making some type of provision for us to reunite with our pets after we pass on.

Re: My best friend of 13 years just died. (DOG). Is there any evidence they survive and cross to the other side?
I always look for butterflies. Three days after I had to put down my male GSD, a butterfly flew down into our covered porch and went back and forth between Bear's food bowl and blanket. Back and forth, back and forth. THEN IT LANDED ON HIS DOG HOUSE DOOR and perched there for awhile. I didn't think much of it until this happened.

When a year and a half later I had to put down his sister, I mourned to myself, where are my butterflies? By that time I had lost my mother so I was really bummed. Where are my butterflies (when will I be comforted)? I look over at my garden and I realize, there is this MAJOR butterfly migration going through my yard! Have you ever seen it whent they migrate? There is just this steady stream of butterflies.

He will be waiting for you at rainbow bridge, I know how bad you miss him. I lost my buddy of 10 yrs. two months ago and still get tears in my eyes thinking of him, and I thought I was tough, his passing brought me to my knee's. I know God will bring dogs and owner's together again.

20 months ago I lost my pet cat, crushed by a car

I let her out, as usual at night. she was a rampant ratter. couldn't stop her. she loved ratting. anyway, this particular night I let her out late, as usual, then went to bed.

at midnight I had a dream. it was dark, and my cat was lying on the ground, below me, stomach looking flat. Then another version of her got up out of her, if that makes sense, and started walking away. I called out her name. she stopped, looked at me one last time, then disappeared into the dark.

I woke in a massive panic attack. I thought i was having a heart attack, and after I calmed back down I went back to sleep, thinking no more of it.

next morning i opened the window, thinking she'd come in, and I put food down for her, then went to work. came home, food not touched, it was then i realised she had been run over purely based on my dream

I gave it 3 or 4 more days, then went looking for her, and sadly found her decomposing by the side of the road about 300 yards away. I picked her up and gave her a decent burial.

She came to me to say goodbye.

when I found her her injuries were very similar to the odd look to her stomach in the dream. it was a very odd time. it confirmed to me there is a lot more to life than most of us realise.

God bless you in your loss OP. Heaven would not be Heaven for me if my little dog (still alive thankfully) was not there. I'd rather see her there than a lot of people I can think of. So if your idea of Heaven is to be reunited with your best friend then would they not be there. Also I found this online:
Ecclesiastes 3:19 Humans and animals have the same destiny. (God's Word Translation). If your destiny is heaven so is your beloved friend's.

Miss him pretty bad. went into renal failure and no one could save him. Worst feeling in the world. Anyone thing they survive too and wait for us on the other side??:bestdog:

I am most sorry; and understand how it feels.

My answer to your question is YES. However, my experiences and my evidence would not satisfy the usual definition of evidence. Contemporary science has not progressed that far.

Nevertheless, YES.

If you are able to be receptive enough to your furry friend in your senses and dreams, perhaps you will discover your own answer.

There is as much evidence for an animal afterlife as there is for a human one.

A number of NDE people recount being surprised to be seeing their pets during their experience.

If we are all gods creatures, it would make sense that somehow we get to reunite in some spiritual way, but it certainly would be nice to have been given an official instruction manual at the beginning.

OP,
I'm sorry for your loss.

But honestly, why do you come to glp to ask such a deep question where you're going to get religious nut answers, , gnostic nut answers, buddist answers, etc. YEt they are not your own personal answers.

You should do your own research into this as it is you who live your life.

I's start with books on occult science.

Try meditation after asking this question and you will find your own answers rather than rely on others to do it for you.

Sorry OP, it is a shame our friends have such a short stay here, but time is a bit irrelevant once we leave this plane. I have read that animals live beyond the physical realm, as well. My memory is a bit lacking of details at the moment, but you shall meet again. ...Obviously evidence is a bit scarce, but I believe it to be true.

My dog died from cancer a year ago. She came to me when I was sleeping at night. She was in very beautilul place, the sun was shining, a lot of flowers and she was very happy. She came into my dreams to ask me to don't worry about her. After that I'm sure that there is another world after death, and this another world is much better. And we certainly will meet with her one day.

Back in the 30's, when my mother was a child, she remembers 'looking down at herself' after the family had been in a car accident. She had hit her head pretty severely on the dashboard when they went off the road and into a ditch. They didn't have this NDE stuff talked about back then so you can't blame the power of suggestion.

Re: My best friend of 13 years just died. (DOG). Is there any evidence they survive and cross to the other side?
hugsAbsolutely they do. My first cat, I was young and afraid to take him to the vet to be put to sleep so had my husband do it while I went to work. At 10:15 I heard him meau in my ear, then sounded like he was being taken away, a tunnel-like sound. I called my husband because I thought he took the cat at 8 am and he said no, he had a flat tire and didn't get to the vet until 10. My cat came to say goodbye.

Your sweet doggie will come back and visit you in a dream or many dreams. They will feel real because they are, you are in the astral plane visiting during sleep. Give it some time because they need to adjust. Ask for a sign, ask for him to visit you.

Another cat, about 3 months after being put down came to me in a dream and she was a beautiful jaguar living in a jungle. She looked at me and spoke, "go to the thrift store on Main street." Of course cats don't talk but the next day I could not get out of my mind to go to the thrift store. I felt the need to look at a specific wall. On that wall was a print of a jaguar in a jungle, exactly as my cat looked in the dream. Naturally that print is on my living room wall now.

Much as it hurts, know you will see him again someday. He may choose to reincarnate to you in this lifetime too. Love is eternal.

OP, I am also sorry for your loss!

I lost one of my cats last October, after she died, (she died in my home)
I still heard her meowing, my Mom came over one day
and said she had heard her too. I wasn't home at the
time.

Every now and then, I see this puff of black fur go by.
One night I was in my family room looking into my office,
on the other side of the french door, I saw her face/body
through the pane and then it was gone.

When I first moved into my home in 2005 my sheltie had just died. I had a contractor come out to my house and when I opened the door to let him in, I saw this ? enter my home, the same size and color of my sheltie. I didn't say anything to the contractor but went through the house because I thought an animal had gotton inside. Later when the contractor finished, he said to me out of the blue before leaving, you have a special gift with animals. It was like he knew what I had seen.

I believe they are still here in another realm. I have stage Iv cancer and believe the vail is being lifted.

I can tell you that when my brothers dog died( i was always nice to him) I smelled him in my room the way he used to come in and look for me to pet him. I think he came to say goodbye because I haven't smelled him since.
