The following is a true story, it happened to me.
One of our dogs snuck out and got hit one evening, I heard the thud but didnt understand it immediatley and none of the traffic made any indication of anything wrong, no brake lights, squealing tires, or pulling off the road.
It took til the next day to find the body in spite of looking for it with the police who had been called about a dog being hit. I found the dog with its neck broke.
An acquaintance who claims to be a medium was engaged soon after in conversation and it was mentioned that we had a recent loss.\She thought for a bit, then described what happened, that the car that hit the dog didnt stop or hit the brekes, and it was the passenger that called the police, that the dog had died intantly and didnt suffer and THE OTHER DOG WAS MISSING THE LOSS OF ITS FRIEND.

She had no information of the kind of pet, the number of pets or the incident which otherwise drew no local attention, and anyway, the woman is not local.

If something like that is important enough to happen to an anmal, I think they are important enough to wait for us as well. Maybe not, but I think they do progress as humans can.
The sad fact is that in many human lives, their dogs or other pets are the best thing they have to look forward to.
