Fortnight, Yes LA would be especially where it lies. Research the soil that it is built upon. That assumes the quake would be San Andre's Fault or one of the others near buy. |

Research shows a big one there every 300 years on average and the last one was in 1700. It killed people as far away as Japan. |

Her family lives in Russia somewhere around Sochi. They notified her that Russian scientists have confirmed that a massive earthquake is about to hit between Mexico and Canada on the Americas West coast. They also confirmed that the Russian Navy has stated they are pulling their entire Pacific fleet out of the Pacific ocean due to this threat. My sister in law checked Russian media and said the story was definitely being circulated. I personally believe they may be using that as a ploy because of U.S. And North Korean tensions. Once war starts if Russia isn't in the vicinity, they can't be called to act or choose sides and won't get caught in any potential cross fires. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 8437303 Ok, I hate to call bullshit due to the fact I know this will happen sooner or later, but an earthquake even if it were a 9.9 wouldn't do shit to a fleet of anything sitting in the middle of the pacific, sure if you beached you carrier a few hundred yards off some coast your fucked but in the deep waters these ships run in they would barely notice the tsunami. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 8437303 The only reason the Russians would move any fleet they have out of the pacific would be to park that shit by Israel, where things are gonna finally pop off. |

I was sort of thinking about this...Russia puts something under the sea on a plate...when it goes off, they blame North Korea! BTW, I am the OP...when I post from my cell phone for some reason it shows me being from Germany. Weird stuff |

According to this bulletin, Russian military scientists have become increasingly concerned over the past fortnight of the events occurring with the Arctic Oscillation (AO) which has plunged nearly the entire Northern Hemisphere into harsh cold conditions and which Western scientists are blaming on melting sea ice which, they report, hit a record low this past autumn. Of greatest concern, this bulletin continues, is the massive anticyclone that has formed over Greenland bringing to our planet the highest barometric pressure ever recorded in human history, and which American scientists warned last year would intensify. American scientists this past week confirmed their Russian counterparts findings, and as we can read, in part, as reported by the Washington Post News Service in their article titled Record Blocking Patterns Fueling Extreme Weather which says: “A near-record low value of the Arctic Oscillation– the climate index that measures the difference in relative pressure between the Arctic and mid-latitudes – is partly responsible for the unseasonable chill. Just how low has the AO tanked? The AO index plummeted to -5.6 on Wednesday, a historically low value. One more remarkable aspect of this major league block: observations over Greenland are threatening to break the worldwide record for highest barometric pressure of 1083.3 mb, set on Dec. 31, 1968 in Siberia.” Most ominous, however, in this bulletin is its blaming this massive anticyclone for the 20 March earthquake swarm occurring under it on the Reykjanes Ridge portion of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge (MAR)." |

Why would your friend move to LA? Even 5 years ago I might have said LA had something to offer. Now it is so bad I avoid driving the freeways and going to any place where the public gather. Maybe for those that don't venture far from Bel Air or Newport things seem decent. What part of LA is your friend living? I was born and raised in LA and I no longer recognize SoCal. There is very very little that is still American. I've heard nothing of eminent earthquake doom. My guess is that Russia has been warned to get away from the coast. Oh well, I suppose NK couldn't target a nicer place to blow up. |

She moved out there for work, to like west hollywood, for a job in the music industry, with some talent agency. With everything going on, i'm just like wow, really? You're moving to hollywood? NOW? OF ALL TIMES? Really fuckin stupid. Shes self-absorbed and oblivious. Its my honest opinion that LA is goin down, soon. But who knows |

That area is still close enough to BH which almost places it in the Bel Air bubble. I don't know where your girlfriend moved from, but it's not a nice business and it's not at all a nice place if she drives anywhere outside that bubble. She may be home sooner than you think. Earthquake, EMP attack, submarine launch whatever. They can't kill all of Southern California but they could sure reduce the population. LA is doomed if something happens or not. Either way, SoCal dies slowly, or with a quick bang |
