I feel like a fuck up
I moved from an economically depressed area, where I had difficulty finding sustainable work, to a big city because I was hired by a large company where my prospects are good.

However, I keep making mistakes. I have been there for 4 months.

I also moved away from my relationship. I had hoped it would sustain the move but the harsh truth is that there is nothing to hang on to.

I have no friends where I have moved. I am very depressed and although I do not feel suicidal, I wish I would die.

Start making new friends,...small steps.... like the person that makes your favorite sandwiches. I know it sounds corny but it worked for me.

What kind of work do you do....I did computer desktop support and because I was around people all the time it really helped fill in the emotional voids.

I bet if you can hang-on a few more months you'll start to feel better.

I had to move recently from a smaller city to a big ass city and I hate it. Big cities are fucking terrible, the people, the buildings, the culture, it all sucks. I was in a job in the city for 3 months before I quit, couldn't take that shit anymore. Going back to school and furthering my education so I can get the fuck out of here and back to a smaller town.

Yes. The traffic here is unbelievably bad! It is not worth the aggravation to travel at certain times of the day. also, I do not know my way around. I am beginning to make sense of the roads.

I too want to further my education.

This could be true - I might be a pussy.

I am not on meds.

Not sure how to go about being someone I am not.

Re: I feel like a fuck up
public transit is a good way to find your way around and kill some time, maybe even meet some friendly strangers depending what city you moved to.
find out where the venues are and go to some live shows of bands you like, find a bar that has an atmosphere that fits if you're into that. see if anybody on OKCupid strikes your fancy. try looking at the new shit at your feet instead of the old shit you left behind

If you have $100 to spare, buy a tomtom gps for your car. I did and I am able to get around my city now without panic attacks.

Maybe it will help you.

I would imagine the work would be tedious,...music helps the time go by faster.....earbuds or a small radio would be
nice if allowed.

Are there any company programs that will allow you to cross-train...or even travel?

When I first entered the US Navy,...it took about a year before I got used to my new way of life in the end I had made about 6 close friends and dated a few girls.....but in the beginning it can be very lonely and you feel heartsick for something normal.

Don't be too hard on yourself....allow yourself to feel crummy for awhile.

I'm sorry your feeling this way.

Time.
Peak Oil, Peak Civilization, Peak EVERYTHING
People who don't believe in peak oil fall into 3 categories:
Uninformed.
In denial.
Too stupid to understand it.
Which one are you?

Thanks for the kind words. They helped to elevate my spirit.

I have thought about seeing a psychologist about the failed relationship and the role I played. I just realized I do not want to feel pain. I makes no sense to fight it - either way I am going to feel it. I like the idea to allow myself to feel crummy for awhile.
