around 2002-2OO3 i had a bunch of scripts continuously running to get data from online real estate agencies, to get statistics on the housing market in the 'better' districts in belgium, and sales/renting of remote high class estates. early 2003 was definately an uptick, with a lot of property being dumped on the market. after that, things got back to normal again. the idea was that belgium is not a future safe place, and that people-in-the-know would leave in advance.

currently i don't know. i stopped doing that a long time ago, and focussed on simply being prepared for whatever shit hits the proverbial fan.

switzerland already has more underground square bunker space, than above-ground real estate. i'm not making this up. it's mandatory when you build there.

if there were huge construction projects digging into the mountains, people would have known. too many tourist year round, all over the place.

No, really, where-ever it is, you can be sure that you are not wanted there, and should not want to live next door to them either, unless you are their servant of something.

Even if many are killed in the cities, the non-elite will still outnumber the elite survivors. If the elite are survivalists they should train by (pretending to) abandon their material possessions and living and traveling for a year like native non-industrial people do.

As an example, the (in)famous author Carlos Castaneda, once went on a journey with a group of indigenous people from Mexico to South America and back again, where as a challenge they carried no money and no identification, only the clothes on their backs. They walked most of the way and did not check in at border crossings. He described the experience as very empowering.

The knowledge you carry in your head is more important than the possessions you can carry with you.

You will be ok in a bunker until someone or some gov comes along and tells you to get the hell out, or die.

The greatest advantage would be to be ignored altogether.
