A friend of mine was going to buy a corn field in Iowa, he was told he would have to sell his corn to the chinese for the 1st 3 years. | |

True story. He skipped that sale and ended up buying farm land in North Dakota. It got me thinking though, how much of the US does China own? Any infrastructure? Why would he have to sell his corn to the Chinese for the 1st 3 years? Are we that indebted to a communist country? If so, when do they come and just swallow us up....or have we already been bitten? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 12247953 What's wrong with that? Sounds fair to me. They fill our stores with goods, we need to reciprocate. They make phones and computers for us, we grow food for them. There is a consequence to printing money into oblivion, it is call payback. We take goods, we need to give back goods in exchange. The problem is becoming glaring when our gobment keeps giving goods (welfare) to the undeserving people in our own country instead of the deserving people across the seas who has been slaving and working to ship us their goods. Stop the welfare state here because it is distorting proper distribution of goods. |

It's called fair trade, you/walmart buy so much of China plastic craps and T-shirt with extremely worthless paper dollar, Now the Chinese just want some corn back and give back your excessively worthless dollar. fair enough? If you don't even allow that to happen. What's the point of earning dollar? |

The problem is that there are more people voting for free stuff (Democrats) in this country than there are those voting against it (Republicans). Sadly, this will end up in the fall of the US as we know it. |

I have a farm and my corn goes to a pork producer in state. The guy next door sells soybeans to Japan. The require special, non gmo beans. They send him the seeds. (edit-its for tofu)At least it won't be as radioactive. |

The trade between China and USA must go on and on and on like a monopoly game that will not end. If you want an end to the China-US trade. The dollar (or perhaps most fiat money except the Swiss) will become toilet paper instantly tomorrow. This is a guarantee. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 36973655 TRADE OR DIE The chinese have driven down their currency value for years....they are winning and we just sit back and allow it. |

Hell, Plant feed plots and use the years to run an outfitting operation for deer, Iowa has excellent deerhunting. So the chinese gets crap all, and you get better land to farm on starting year 4. |

The problem is that there are more people voting for free stuff (Democrats) in this country than there are those voting against it (Republicans). Sadly, this will end up in the fall of the US as we know it. That's because our current economic system is very much like a monopoly game. At some time in the future(which is NOW), a few smart dudes/corporations/Its employees will "win/suck" most of the wealth of the society, leaving the "lazy" and less talented losers with lesser and lesser wealth to leech. If there is no "divine intervention" /(money creation)from government to inject fictitious $$$ to the system , the situation become worse and worse and worse until there is no more liquidity/0 money velocity in the system, and the economy suffers total collapse. I consider "more people voting for free stuff (Democrats) in this country" a natural process of our global economic system. Feel lucky (success depends partially on luck) if you are on the another side(rich Republican) and have sympathy for those who are not on the same board as yours. |

My brother inlaw is a grain broker. Farms do not sell directly to other countries or anyone else. They only sell to the broker hubs who set the prices. This story is a lie and whoever pinned it is a dipshit and should fix their gullible mistake. All grain sales are done through main brokers who handle bushels. Even a bakery wouldn't be talking to a farmer. Especially a small farmer. |
