Quarter-sized hail reported near Falls Village, Conn.

Good morning everyone, sorry for the absence. Seems someone would find it amusing in banning me for some reason >< I missed reporting on that Oklahoma storm and how it ate the TWISTEX team :( But your Russian weatherwolf is with you now, most unhappy to use his karma to purchase some immunity.

If anyone is interested in our local weather update we had some strange storms yesterday with very heavy rain and hail for around ten minutes around noon. Then a gust front came through with some gusty winds, additional thunderstorms and heavy rain in the evening. Here's a picture of the hail I caught before it melted. Slightly bigger then a pea. GEEZZZZ!!!

I'd very much like to break misconceptions on both sides of the ocean that ti's just the US that get "Dem big, ol' scary twisters." Luis. Or perhaps that has been true for the last decades, but not any longer? Climate is changing, I can feel and I notice it. Can't say why though. That's way above my head.

yes for example here tornados were very very very rare events, but now, since 5 years ago we had them every year 4 to 6... last year the bigest ever, a F3-4...

Luis, can you find a sounding for 'Efremov', Tula Region for that day please? Let's analyze that together with the lovely people here. See if we can spot similarities and differences to say a Moore sounding? The station number is 27921. So far it seems they don't transmit WMO data :( Neither does nearby 27928 ('Elec' town). At least not for 22nd of May.

Hello Luis How severe could it get? Do we have any TOR-CON's yet? There was some kind of flooding after a dam broke somewhere in the States. They mentioned it briefly here. We have convection today. Pilots on approach to our local airport request avoidance courses. Not really thundering over our head yet though. On the bright side UVK doppler works again! [link to www.nowcast.ru]

Correction: breach. Wow @breakingweather: The Mississippi River is expected to crest around 40' today, following a levee breech last night.

Bad weather in Oklahoma again. Widespread hail storms.

Nothing tornadic yet. Looks more like a squall line or bow echo forming though.

Guthrie, OK, has already received 1.86" of rain from storms this morning as severe weather moves through the area.
