Here is another video out of NWS Norman,Ok. They do a great job and are good people. I've actually called their office by mistake one time. I was looking for a recorded weather message but ended up talking to their chief Met for a while.

With all the new people moving here, it's good to post all of this, even though WE know. Also, straight line winds can do the same or more damage than tornadoes, depending on the strength. Just because it's "just wind" doesn't mean don't take it seriously. It IS serious and dangerous. I joke alot about tumbleweeds, but vehicles will swerve to avoid them. Many are as tall as a small car. I've seen them put holes in windshields when the hard stem hit the glass. A dust storm is worse than fog, imo. I've driven many times in both.

You got that right neighbor. Even 50-60 mph winds can pick up stuff outside and toss it right through a window too. Heck, my husband was throwing a water balloon at me once, I ducked and it went right through the kitchen window and that wasn't even with a tail wind. LOL

And lets not forget that winds are usually the reason power goes out. It knocks trees onto the power lines.

That being said, Today would be a good day to make sure the laundry is done, dishes clean, batteries in the flash lights, gas in the car, gas for the grill, phones charged up,...that sort of thing. At least that's what I'm working on.

AL storms, are they heading to GA or TN??

I'm not a Meteorologist or have any formal weather training. I'm just a gal who loves to weather watch. That being said, there are a lot of variables with this system which probably will not become clear until tonight or early tomorrow.

This is what they are saying at the moment..

THERE IS A SLIGHT RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS FOR MIDDLE
TENNESSEE LATE WEDNESDAY NIGHT. A STRONG COLD FRONT IS EXPECTED TO
MOVE ACROSS MIDDLE TENNESSEE LATE WEDNESDAY NIGHT AND INTO
THURSDAY MORNING. IT IS A GROWING POSSIBILITY THAT SEVERE STORMS
WILL OCCUR ALONG AND JUST AHEAD OF THE FRONTAL PASSAGE.
CURRENTLY...IT APPEARS THAT THE POTENTIAL FOR SEVERE WEATHER WILL
OCCUR AS EARLY AS 1 AM TO 4 AM EARLY THURSDAY MORNING ACROSS OUR
WESTERN MOST AREAS. THE ACTIVITY WILL THEN MOVE EASTWARD ACROSS
THE REMAINDER OF THE MID STATE BY MID MORNING ON THURSDAY.
 Quoting: CowgirlK

We're gonna have one of those fun sleepless nights Wednesday night/Thurs early am. Awesome!

MID SOUTH STATES STAY ALERT....................
...SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS POSSIBLE ACROSS THE MIDSOUTH WEDNESDAY AND
WEDNESDAY NIGHT...

A STRONG UPPER LEVEL LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM ANS ASSOCIATED COLD FRONT
WILL APPROACH THE MIDSOUTH FROM THE WEST WEDNESDAY...THEN
GRADUALLY MOVE EASTWARD INTO THE REGION WEDNESDAY NIGHT. SOUTHERLY
WINDS WILL PUSH RELATIVELY WARM AND INCREASING MOIST AIR INTO THE
REGION OVER THE NEXT COUPLE DAYS IN ADVANCE OF THIS SYSTEM. BY
WEDNESDAY...THE ATMOSPHERE WILL BECOME UNSTABLE. WINDS WILL BE ON
THE INCREASE WEDNESDAY AND A WIND ADVISORY MAY BE NEEDED MAINLY
ALONG AND WEST OF THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER WHERE SOUTH WINDS OF 25
MPH WILL OCCUR WITH GUSTS TO BETWEEN 35 AND 40 MPH.

A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE WEDNESDAY MORNING ACROSS
PORTIONS OF NORTHEAST ARKANSAS...BUT THE BETTER CHANCE FOR SEVERE
THUNDERSTORMS WILL COME WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON AND WEDNESDAY NIGHT. A
SQUALL LINE IS FORECAST TO MOVE INTO EASTERN ARKANSAS BY LATE
AFTERNOON...THEN MOVE EASTWARD ACROSS THE MIDSOUTH WEDNESDAY
NIGHT. SOME THUNDERSTORMS ALONG THE SQUALL LINE MAY BE SEVERE WITH
DAMAGING WINDS...LARGE HAIL AND ISOLATED TORNADOES. IT IS ALSO
POSSIBLE A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS COULD DEVELOP AHEAD OF THE
SQUALL LINE. IN ADDITION...LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL MAY OCCUR WITH
MANY LOCATIONS RECEIVING UP TO AT LEAST TWO INCHES OF RAIN.

Re: Heads up - Severe Weather Texas!
From one of my favorite Florida forecasters blog..

Information in the outlook, and analysis of soundings from around the area, indicate a capping inversion, from on average at the 880-890 mb level, down to 800 mb. Given the current cap, thunderstorm activity should be limited to elevated storms, to where the main threat would be hail, which would be initiating most likely around noon, to around late afternoon. Current analysis of F5 Data severe wx software, indicates a good probability from the NAVGEM, NAM-WRF, and GFS that a potential for stronger cells, which may be surface based, could produce some tornadoes, some strong. This will depend whether or not the cap can be broken later this afternoon, into early evening, and will depend on daytime heating for this. Should this occur, the greatest threat for tornadic activity appears to hinge around the 8:00 P.M. to 11:00 P.M. EDT window. SWEAT Index Values of 400-475 indicates a better probability of tornadoes within that time, and EHI values of anywhere from 2-5 indicates some tornadoes, if any could be strong.

NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
0236 PM CDT MON APR 08 2013

AREAS AFFECTED...ERN CO INTO WRN KS AND SWRN NEB

CONCERNING...SEVERE POTENTIAL...WATCH POSSIBLE

VALID 081936Z - 082200Z

PROBABILITY OF WATCH ISSUANCE...60 PERCENT

SUMMARY...AT LEAST ISOLATED SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO
FORM OVER FAR ERN CO ...AND MAY MATURE AND MOVE INTO WRN KS AND SWRN
NEB.

DISCUSSION...PRESSURE FALLS CONTINUE AT AROUND 1.0 - 1.2 MB/HR
ACROSS ERN CO AS TEMPERATURES CONTINUE TO RISE AND LOW LEVEL
MOISTURE ATTEMPTS TO RETURN NWWD. THE SURFACE THETA-E AXIS WAS
LOCATED FROM WRN OK INTO SERN CO JUST S OF A RELATIVELY COOL
STRATUS-INDUCED COLD POCKET FROM GCK TO DDC. GRADUAL HEATING SHOULD
CONTINUE ACROSS THE REGION...AND DESPITE LOWER DEWPOINTS IN THE 30S
AND 40S OVER ERN CO...INSTABILITY WILL STILL BE PRESENT.

VISIBLE IMAGERY SHOWS AREAS OF CU BENEATH BROKEN CIRRUS NEAR LHX AND
EXTENDING NWD TOWARD AKO. ALTHOUGH CONVERGENCE IS WEAK...A FEW
UPDRAFTS SHOULD GROW INTO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAPABLE OF LARGE
HAIL. WHEN THIS OCCURS...THE BACKED SELY LOW LEVEL WINDS SHOULD
ALLOW CELLS TO TURN EWD AND MOVE ACROSS THE KS BORDER. HODOGRAPHS
WILL BE QUITE FAVORABLE FOR SUPERCELLS...WITH MAXIMUM HAIL SIZE
ESSENTIALLY LIMITED BY AVAILABLE MOISTURE. IF STORMS CAN PERSIST
INTO THE 50 F DEWPOINT AIR...VERY LARGE HAIL WOULD BE LIKELY. A
MARGINAL TORNADO THREAT COULD ALSO MATERIALIZE BUT ONLY IF CELLS CAN
MAINTAIN STRENGTH INTO THE LOWER LCL ENVIRONMENT BEFORE CAPPING
DESTROYS THEM.
