Even worse than that, I know quite a few girls who can't even support themselves getting pregnant and having kids, and then actually having the nerve to complain when their folks wont watch the baby so they can go out and party.

Let's put this another way....

A generation brings the world to

THE BRINK OF ARMAGEDDON

....

Now, their OWN CHILDREN

CHEER for DOOM!

How do conspiracy forums maintain their userbases if not for the simple fact that

People WANT DOOM!

They WANT the Boomers to be destroyed by a natural disaster

At LEAST: THEY WANT TO DIE.

I'm sorry boomers.

But as a whole?

You have failed humanity

To an extent previously unthinkable

Because of you, your children are at the mercy of NUCLEAR WARHEADS and CORRUPT GENERALS

Despite having witnessed a potential nuclear Armageddon in your own lifetimes.

You are dismissed.

HA Yeah right, I could see my family helping me pay for college or allowing me to move back home. I'd have a better chance at moving in with some of the douche bags here.

Re: Baby Boomers get ready! Kids in their mid 30's moving back home!!!
I have noticed around my neighborhood alot of adult children moving back in with their parents... Many of these neighbors are not happy at all with their moving back in!

So lets ask the parents, would you let your kids move back?

[link to money.ca.msn.com]

Nearly all boomers surveyed (93 per cent) have provided some form of financial support to their adult children.

The list includes helping them pay for college tuition or loans (71 per cent), allowing them to live at home rent-free (55 per cent) and helping them to buy a car (53 per cent).

But few, it seems, are complaining. Despite uncertainty around meeting their own financial goals, a majority of parents (86 per cent) say that if they had to do it again, they would still support their adult children financially.

In fact, 20 per cent say they actually feel guilty about not being able to do more for their adult kids, particularly those that find their way home.

Nonetheless, parents still need to set some boundaries and stick to them when kids return, warns Susan Newman, author of Under One Roof Again: All Grown Up and (Re)learning to Live Together Happily.

But that doesn’t mean making a life plan for your adult children. This is something they need to devise on their own so they’ll follow it.

Try to be a coach, rather than a boss; act as a sounding board and help them see different perspectives before they make their own decisions, she suggests.

Be sure to have the “good guest” talk at the outset, says Jennifer Berry, a consultant with Mosaic Counselling and Family Services in Kitchener, Ont. At the same time, discuss how long your son or daughter plans on staying.

“When children grow up in a home, they often adopt the attitude that the home they live in is their house and the cars are their cars,” she explains.

Many of my nieghbors are having to cash in their retirements to help their kids, they are having to babysit their grand kids all day, and many other sacrifices they never thought they would have to do.

The baby boomers are the most selfish self centered generation ever. I know I'm one of them and heartily dislike most of them.

They created the environment that caused this mess and now they are upset that their kids have to come home to survive.

They are a total disgrace.

I am a boomer.
I left home at the age of 16, never looked back and never took, scratch that, got a dime. The big bad scary world was much less frightening than what was at home and not that unusual in the 1970s. Worked 2 jobs and went to school full time. Still managed to graduate high school with honours at 17. Would never have gone back, for any reason.

My motto was and still is What ever does not kill you makes you stronger. Learn and grow from the lessons life throws at you.

My kids have come back now and again, in between school, jobs and lost loves and I have no problem with it, they are my family, my home is always their home. They feel love and acceptance in their home.

They know there is only one rule in the house, I Rule.
It is good to be Queen, ha, ha.
Might I change that in the future, already have now that they are contributing adults but as long as I am of sound mind, I still ultimately rule in my home.
That said, having my kids feed me porridge in my own home is a much more appealing picture than an attendant with attitude feeding me in a nursing home.

So I guess my answer to the question is...Yes, I would be ok with it, life is about adapting, better the devil I know than 10 crazy loons on the same floor as you in the old folks home.

The closer one gets to over the hill, the more one actually gives pause to ponder these questions.

The company, conversation, shoveling, lawn care, garbage duty, car scraping, grocery carrying, dinner making, dish washing, light bulb changing, chauffeur when needed, and many other assorted assigned duties can be very, very appreciated.

obviously we cant tweak the planet now,

the Illuminati Cult that has an iron grip on the planet brands us terrorists for wanting to release

the free energy technology,

the cure for cancer,

faster than like flight technology and the secret space program;

but rest assured We're out here, just waiting for the Illuminati to seriously screw up enough that we can take them down for good,

and then we'll build the paradise world after the WW3

The 35 yo are way out there for me. I'm a baby boomer but started kids late. So far the first is out of the house at 18, has cheap rent, is going to school and supporting himself part time. Hasnt borrowed a cent so far. My younger daughter is taking a cooking course, which will be helpful for her ambitions to go to school. The other daughter wants to be a "fashion designer". I am sure they'll all be independent and successful.

I dont know why 35 yo need to return to the house,, they are still young enough to retrain and start again.

For all the boomer haters, we did our best. Show us how you'd make a better world. That would be the best "revenge" you could do. Good luck!

Re: Baby Boomers get ready! Kids in their mid 30's moving back home!!!
Is this really such a bad thing?

In time, it will likely work out to the boomers' advantage. It is predicted that there will be a shortage of home health aides as the boomers age and need increasing care. Their children will likely take on the role of caregiver.

If you've ever been in a position to have to hire a home health aide, you know that it's slim pickins. They are much better off having their own children at home to care for them as they age.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 6383062

Most of the kids have no desire to be caregivers...
 Quoting: MaxMad

They want the free room and board.. And "c'mon Mom, you know I don't like the crust on my PBJ!!! How many times must I tell you, I am 42 years old for crying out loud!"
 Quoting: MaxMad

Well, I don't think that's true for everyone. I work as a caregiver, and have happily dropped everything to go home to help take care of my father and grandmother when they were on hospice service. And, I fully anticipate doing the same thing with my mother when the time comes. Seems to me that that is just part of the natural cycle of life. My parents took care of me when I was young, and I'll take care of them as they are ailing.

Additionally, I am already planning for my own childrens' lengthy dependence if things continue to worsen economically. Although I will fully encourage them to leave the nest when ready, I'm making contingency plans for them to be able to stay for as long as they need or want to. Of course, they will be expected to contribute, but they always have been expected to contribute to the functioning of the household through chores, helping with cooking, cleaning, mowing the yard, maintaining the garden and animals, etc. (as much as they could at their given ages). So, that foundation has already been set.

I think our society has it all backwards. We think we have to push our kids out of the nest when they turn 18 and are viewed as parental failures if the kids have to return home. And, the kids are viewed as personal failures as if they do not maintain independence. That's ass backwards! What is more important in life than one's own family???

And, what has this ass backward world view gotten us? People are depressed, lonely, isolated, and completely lacking in community. The nuclear family has been an abject failure. I'd say it's high time we turn the tide.

YOU ARE NOT LISTENING.

Old times were about respect, family working together, caring and cooperating.

What we are talking about here is parasitism at its best.

How can you not see that??? There is nothing more selfish than what these loser kids are doing.

I grew up in a multi-generational family. I am a 1st generation here. I know what I am talking about because even in India, Africa, South America, etc...leeches are not tolerated. If you are disabled, that is different.

But being a spoiled, lazy, entitled CHILD is not acceptable even in these countries. It sounds like you are more in tune with the 20th century world because you HAVE NOT EVEN LISTENED to me. Are you also watching youtube videos as you type? Likely.

Good luck.

Thats funny... A high school diploma... Times were much simpler then...
 Quoting: MaxMad

Most did not stay with a high school diploma,,, there were plenty of incentives train and retrain as the economy dipped and glided along. I heard somewhere in the eighties that the average person would have 3 careers in their lifetime,,, they were underestimating it perhaps,, and preparing us away from the idea of a "job for life", that our parents seemed to accept as normal...

Re: Baby Boomers get ready! Kids in their mid 30's moving back home!!!
i realize that You are addicted to the 20th century world,

the century of the self,

that in your head it's All about you, and your selfish materialistic needs,

But we are going back to the Old Times,

the 20th Century is lingering on longer than it should have, but the selfish materialism of the 20th century is actually hanging by a thread now;

And, after whats about to happen it will be a better world, back to the Olden Times

FOR THOUSANDS OF YEARS

This was the Normal setup,

Then, around the early 20th century IN THE USA

the attitude was toss your kids out once they turn 17

there is so much opportunity.

The reality is this is a return to NORMAL,

the 20th century wasnt normal

what do u expect? the country is collapsing u know? in 3rd world countries the kids never move out, u have grandma, parants, kids, and grandkids all in the same house, and thats the way it will be from here on out, so get used to it.

Be very careful and do not confuse respectful, cooperative, and deep family connections you see in 3rd world countries with the shit show you see here where girls are getting knocked up, then come home to live with mommy, stick her with the kid so girly can go back out and party some more/get knocked up again.

Also do not confuse the hard-working son living at his parents home who is in fact SUPPORTING those older parents in their own home with HIS PAYCHECK with the soul-sucking 30 something leech who lives in his parents basement playing call of duty 12 hours a day and maybe working 3 hrs a day in the quickie mart (if parents are lucky) who then turns around and spends his entire $160/week paycheck on more video games and maybe some booze or pot.

Are you seeing the differences? Are you??? Don't tell me we are going back to "THE OLD WAYS" because we are far from it buddy. GOT THAT???

The whole extended family living in a single wide? Makes sense and would leave more money to buy smoke.

Re: Baby Boomers get ready! Kids in their mid 30's moving back home!!!
your society has no future,

your society is pornography, fornication, gay marriages, people stealing things and being celebrated for it.

You complain about the return to normal,

it will be a painful return at some level,

but the world will return to normal.

And, so ends the age of evil over the earth.

Likely.

Good luck.

Re: Baby Boomers get ready! Kids in their mid 30's moving back home!!!
If we blame baby boomers for nukes, we have ourselves to blame for the annihilation of freedom and liberty, of the deaths that occurred on 9/11, of yet another banking cartel scam run amok plunging ourselves deeper into bondage and a host of war, the hyper-feminization of men and hyper-masculinization of woman, colony collapse disorder, another extreme leap in cancer related illnesses, political correctness and everything else that has gone awry since reaching adulthood.

None dare to stand and be heard, this generation is silent.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 31371001

This is all a direct result of the Boomers not standing up for themselves and selling out...
 Quoting: MaxMad

And a direct result of us that aren't standing up now. These things are because we are idle. We fell for the whole blame game, nothing can be our fault.. no responsibility.
