im gonna have to agree that these dont look like bombing victims. BUT if the explosive consisted of ball bearings used as shrapnel then maybe. but no burns. no body ripped up. looks like propaganda. looks like victims were shot. who knows. only the dead

OP, this guy was a pro-regime right? At least that's what i've heard, so why would Assad kill one of the few, if any, Sunni pro-regime clerics? Any theories?

tough call without better quality of video. A jury would not convict.

something doesn't seem right with this video. When the explosion goes off all you see is a big black hole in some wall then the image of the man flopping over seems to superimpose on top of that hole. I'm no special FX expert but something seems off. Could be just me though.

looks like a circle fell out of the ceiling and landed behind him and rolled away. It takes a while for a cracked skull to bleed through the mouth.

yes he was,in fact he used to teach bashar al assad religion when he first became president,so when he goes to the mosque to pray ppl wont laugh at him

that's a tough question..the syrian regime calculates its moves very carefully and they dispose ppl of their own if it servers their intentions,the near history of this mob is full of evidence that support my claim,from high officials such as prime ministers to Generals ...


as for why this guy ! i think it was a tactic to split the Sunni majority in Syria in general and in Damascus in particular..bcuz he was a respected Sunni Clerk in the Damascian community,and to portray the opposition as terrorists who would not hesitate to bomb mosques and kill clerks...trying to bring to mind what happened in iraq after the fall of the iraqi regime,he still has another one on his side...with very close ties to iran

i guess it will take few years to know why..or the person who leaked the vid has some answers.

regarding the black hole...

its like a small veranda which has a small marble fence and behind that fence where the Imam stands behind it to preach before the friday prayer..has also a small chair where he sits for few mins to rest....the explosion apperently destroyed the marble fence ....here is an image taken after the explosion...extracted from syrian regime state videos and images

There is no doubt that Syrian regime has some dirty tricks on it's sleeves too, from what i've heard the Sunni's are already about equally split in terms of support to FSA or regime, guess we'd never truly know without more info.

sorry but that makes no sense. according to turkish sources, the bouti helped the government make peace in southern syria with tribes, as well as recruiting thousands of syrian soldiers.

why would they kill him if he was already doing so much?
