Kim is doing one hell of a job of convincing me that he is forfeiting his place on this earth by threatening everyone else.

I don't recall US threatening to attack first so long as he calms the hell down - - that subtle distinction seems lost on him at the moment.

Why do people think there are nukes buried beneath Seoul? They don't have that many or we would have gone to war long ago to prevent it, I would think. Doesn't mean he couldn't do plenty of damage with conventionals, just - you know.

Nothing is going to happen. There is going to be a really short shooting war. North Korea is going to get their shit wrecked. China and Russia will then come to their rescue in an attempt to renegotiate peace.

Whether or not it's subtle, Kim Jong Un's death will be at the other side; whether it's at the hands of the American military, the KGB, or the CIA.

South Korea probably is the last place where Kim would drop a nuke.

NK only needs to nuke 1 US city. After that, the divided US populace will finish the job. Seriously, look around. People are more divided and hateful than ever. It would only take one massive opportunity for the more evil people to go ape shit and society to crumble.

I still think this will amount to a whole lot of nothing.

But let's play the "why would he" game.

1. North Korea is broke and overpopulated.

The first fix a war would produce would of course be reduction in mouths to feed.

2. NK Has no money and no trade partners.
If they manage to get their butts kicked by the US, maybe he's counting on "nationbuilding" to take over and save his people.

3. Their policies are obviously not working, but they have been running for so long on the same propaganda that changing tune just wouldn't work. Losing a war and letting the south / US take over would mean he wouldn't have to confess to his father / grandfather being idiots.

4. The worst case scenario. He thought he could play the same game as his predecessors, but lacks the statesmanship skills to back down when needed.

Artillery an inner city strikes with paratroopers and underground spec ops...then when South Koreas allies mobilize and push North Korea back he will set off a nuke over those forces.

The EMP you all expect and know is coming will not be a man-made event.
