DOWNSIZE and Live within Your means! That's all???? 900.00? If you are capable of moving, set up a resume on Monster and turn in applications non-stop emphasizing "willing to relocate" Some companies even pay for the move. I'm praying for you! |

Please find him a great and solid job before the week is out. Render them invisible to all evil and render those wishing to do them harm, impotent to bring their plans to fruition. Eternal Father, I offer You the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity, if Your dearly beloved Son, our Lord, Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world. For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have Mercy on us and on the whole world. Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have Mercy on us and on the whole world. Amen. Jesus, I trust in You. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1502149 United States 04/10/2013 03:01 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | op, Quoting: Anonymous Coward 17888588 I disagree about the medical coverage. If you have young, healthy children you can get by without it. Most states also have a fund set up for children in case of catastrophic illness anyway. Secondly, it probably won't be that long until you are able to get them covered again anyway so a few months without it is not a big deal. Insurance co's cover children very quickly unlike adults in the same situation. He likely isn't paying any extra to cover his kids since he's already carrying family coverage in order to cover his wife. Not sure about his exact coverage, but every place I've ever worked you either had family coverage or not. It cost the same to cover a spouse as it did to cover a spouse and 19 kids. (I will refrain from making Duggar comments - just this once.) |

Please pray for me and my family? I don't want to be homelesss. :( :( OP, Myself, My Wife, My Brother and My dad have over 80 Years of Army Service. In all of my years of Army life dating back to the 1970's as a brat. I never encountered a "RETIRED" veteran with (2 Little Children) You gotta be in your 40's by now. Oh I understand the various scenario possibilities here, but honestly OP, You don't talk or act like a 20 year retired Navy veteran......at all. Also, you have a monthly retirement check of $950 "After Taxes", Thats $11,400 a year "After Taxes" .....so you won't be losing everything. Something just dose not seem right here OP. Email me a copy of your "Certified" DD-214, I'll get you some work and maybe some starter cash before pay day [email protected] I wondered some of those same things. If he was doing okay while enlisted why would he just retire knowing that his retirement pay wouldn't cover him and his family? He already knew the wife and mother-in-law we're not working and must have had an idea of how much money was going out for bills at that time. I know people don't like to hear things like this when they're in a money bind, but geez...what the hell was he thinking? I have a much harder time listening and/or caring when someone is telling me how they have inserted themselves into a bad situation that they were starring at the whole time...yet continued to insert themselves into said bad situation. I'll wish him and his family the best as I'm in no way religious enough to pray into thin air for help. An uncle told me a long time ago that you could pray in one hand while crapping in the other and see which one fills up fastest. Anyway...with the experience you have try school districts around your area. The larger the school district the better chances you have of finding something. If no full time spots are open, many will have sub lists for bus drivers and custodial positions. They're not big money, but most times you can choose or deny the work request as it fits into your schedule. I know of many that are working full time day jobs and then work a few nights a month for extra money doing sub custodial as well as some with night jobs doing sub bus driving during the day. With just the subbing you get to know in district people that you can then use as references towards full time work within the district when full time positions open. Try your community colleges as well as universities in your area too. In the beginning though...I would refrain from telling people/businesses that you want to work for that you may have some kind of spiritual attack going on with you and your family. Unless it's a church or someone with strong spiritual/religious ties, they may not take you to serious and potentially feel like you may be trouble later on. Not everyone in the real world are quite as nutty or spiritually goofy as many you'll find on the GLPeez. |
JasmineinNM User ID: 15256858 United States 04/10/2013 03:09 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Many prayers for you to find a job.......but I would highly recommend you stop applying for jobs online and get dressed up and go knocking doors. Having your face seen by a real person is worth much more than a faceless application submit along with 5,000 others for that one job. I don't mean to sound harsh and I do understand where you are coming from....been there and done that. I don't trust electronics for something that could mean you lose everything. Its only electronics and one little glitch and your app never makes it to the intended office. I don't trust that your app would even get the HR. Online apps is emotionless and some computer on the receiving end if evaluating and tossing before a human even sees anything due to the large volume of replies. Start knocking doors Make copies of your resume by the hundreds and hand them out. Yes, this times more time but it pays off better. Prayers and best wishes that you will find a job right away now. |
BxMac User ID: 18472095 United States 04/10/2013 03:10 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'm in, brother, and promise to humbly offer an earnest prayer for all good things to come to your family. Did you get out an E6 (I saw you said you didn't come out a Chief) or E5? I know pensions aren't going far. I live in the Bronx and the VA we have here is top notch. There are many who have bad experiences with the VA, but I've been well considered. You may want to try and reach-out to the VA in your area (you've probably done so already so apologies for redundancy) they've got a lot of good programs if you press them. In any event, it seems your children have a good man for a father. A man with his head up and shoulders back. Lot of people here joining in prayer for your family. May the peace that surpasses all understanding guide your heart and mind. God bless and keep you and yours, OP. You are not alone. |

Email me a copy of your "Certified" DD-214, I'll get you some work and maybe some starter cash before pay day [email protected] I am 41 years old with two children, I waited for a long time to have children, that is why I have two young children now. My retirement pay at this moment is paying for Mortgage, Property Tax, Home Owners, Medical, Dental. My children need coverage, that is why I have medical and dental. What is killing me right now is the Utiities, and Personnal Property tax. I live in Norfolk VA, and I live in a simple home with my wife and two children and her mother. My wifes mother lost her job 4 years ago after working 15 years (New Management) and she lost her home and car.... We took her in as she should never be on the streets!!! She can't work now due to Heart Failure, (Old) and my wife is looking, but finding a job after being out of the Work Field for over 12 years is really tough. We are both Born again Christians and we live as God would want us to live. We teach our children the 10 Commandments, prayer and Thanking Jesus for everything. We have talked to alot of people about finding a job and all we hear is, " Sorry for your situation." No, help at all!!!!! I have an ASSOCIATES DEGREEE AND MY BA IS OPEN in Construction Technology. I am a Utilitiesman/Plumber/Hvac for over 15 years. Outstanding life record and credit. We are just a simple fun loving family who helps anyone in need. I wonder if this might be a Spiritual Attack on us??? We are very very close to God and right now there is a War in Heaven and time is short. I am not asking for any type of handouts, just a SIMPLE PRAYER? Jesus said keep asking and ye shall receive, and God said, No good thing will I withhold from you to those that love me. These are the promises we are living day by day on. Thank you all for your prayers and if I get a wonderful job or any job, I will be sure to inform you all. Craigslist!!! You are highly skilled in areas most people aren't. I could write your ad for you. Retired military looking for HVAC and plumbing repair work. Put some background info in there, education, available 24 hours. Also, cold call or visit some of the real estate companies who offer rental management. Walk your resume in and ask for the office manager, they are always desperate for quality, eager repair folks. I have 3 rentals with 3 different management companies, 2 of them are having trouble finding staff. Praying for you! |
