Why do people still belive in the Holocaust?
The main reason for why most people believe in the Holocaust is that they want to believe it. It is a form of “group thinking” which bonds them with so many others–--and totally liberates them from any guilt feelings for their own moral depravity and heinous crimes.

The Anglo-American mass incineration of countless innocent women and children mean nothing if the other side did worse things. The facts are that even if the holocaust were true, the crimes committed by the Allies, especially the US, are far worse than anything the Nazis are even accused of committing.

Why do people continue to espouse forensically refuted lies even after being confronted with the incontrovertible facts that refute them?

Because you can’t convince a true-believer of anything - for their beliefs are not based on science and reason - they’re based on blind faith and a weak-willed NEED to believe. Hence, most propaganda is not designed to fool critical thinkers - but rather; Only to give self-deceiving cowards an excuse not to think at all.

Cognitive dissonance theory explains human behavior by positing that people have a bias to seek consonance between their expectations and reality. According to Festinger, people engage in a process he termed "dissonance reduction", which can be achieved in one of three ways: lowering the importance of one of the discordant factors, adding consonant elements, or changing one of the dissonant factors. This bias sheds light on otherwise puzzling, irrational, and even destructive behavior, such as belief in fairy tales.

With modern forensic technology, it would be disproven in minutes, yet there is a large segment of the world who actually still believe it happened.

It truly is the "need to believe", just like as children we need to believe in Santa Claus or the Tooth Fairy.

It is amazing to just sit back and watch people defend this tale as if their life depended on it.

The main reason

It's because there are just too many photographs and footage about it. You can't ignore them. You can't just say "no, it didn't happen - or else, you have to have some very good reasons.

“My religious belief teaches me to feel as safe in battle as in bed. God has fixed the time for my death. I do not concern myself about that, but to be always ready, no matter when it may overtake me. That is the way all men should live, and then all would be equally brave.”
-Stonewall Jackson

"The Bible that is falling apart usually belongs to a person who is not." - Charles Spurgeon

“I apprehend no danger to our country from a foreign foe . . . Our destruction, should it come at all, will be from another quarter. From the inattention of the people to the concerns of their government, from their carelessness and negligence, I must confess that I do apprehend some danger. I fear that they may place too implicit a confidence in their public servants, and fail properly to scrutinize their conduct; that in this way they may be made the dupes of designing men, and become the instruments of their own undoing. Make them intelligent, and they will be vigilant; give them the means of detecting the wrong, and they will apply the remedy.”

“If we abide by the principles taught in the Bible, our country will go on prospering and to prosper; but if we and our posterity neglect its instructions and authority, no man can tell how sudden a catastrophe may overwhelm us and bury all our glory in profound obscurity.” -Daniel Webster

Plenty! And there number seems to grow every year.

It's quite amusing to see so many "Holocaust survivors" from the "dead camps", don't you think?

Now, to answer the OP's question, I think one of the main reasons is that it is criminal to deny the Holocaust in some countries.

You look better in the eyes of the masses when you're heavily opposed to Holocaust deniers.

Very smart hoax!

The Holocaust did happen, but the numbers are a little hard to prove.

None the less... Why dont Christians get all bent out of shape? No one mentions the 20 million European Christians who died.

What about the 20 million Russians? They dont cry, and we are not forced to lean their story of WW2.

50 million people died in WW2. Why are the Jews placed on some kind of alter because they died, yet no one else is?

What about the Americans, French, Germans, Japanese, Polish, Russian etc.? No one cares about them, right?

Re: Why do people still belive in the Holocaust?
Surviving a concentration camp does not make a Holocaust, nor do photographs.
What we are discussing here is the systematic gassing and disposing of many 100's of thousands of Jews.

It is absurd and I would have thought that no rational person could actually believe this anymore.

It's easy to say "talk to a survivor" but what would they say? How can we be sure their memory is accurate, not skewed by Hollywood movies or even being just another self aggrandizing promoter like Irene Weisberg Zisblatt...who claimed that she escaped from inside a gas chamber.

She barely avoided having her unblemished skin turned into a lampshade.

Doctor Mengele removed her tattoo.

She was thrown over the electrified barbed wire at the camps after escaping the gas chamber, naked, onto a train to another camp.

A Nazi nurse gave her a phony lethal injection, (1995 - Today)

She repeatedly swallowed and defecated four diamonds for almost a year and a half while an inmate of the German concentration camps....and after the war she had them made into a diamond ring.

What do you think?

Unfortunately, it is the modus operandi of those who blindly believe in the Holocaust. No courage to publicly speak their convictions. Of course, I am no one to talk because I am posting anonymously as well, but even so, I would not give bad karma for those who disagree with me.

All I am asking is for someone to stand up and explain their irrational beliefs regarding this singular event. It needn't be confrontational, I just want to understand what makes people believe in strange things.

To me, this is in the same realm with Grimm's Fairy Tales, Santa Claus and alien abduction.

Only fools believe the lies spread by Haters.
Then try to "rationalize", why others won't believe in the lie.

Failure to research. Many people in Europe have been jailed for researching the truth; the contrived story of 6 million. You will know who owns you by the very fact that you cannot openly discuss them, or in this case, research what really happened.

The very ones that wrote the false history are the ones today that run government, banking, all forms of media, educational institutions (connected with History Books), religious institution, Federal Reserve (1913), American Defamation League (1913), etc..

Check out the power of the American Defamation League, and how they are part of our educational system, brainwashing generations for over 100 years.
