Granted the service stations would be disabled as well as refineries etc. I would love to find a magneto distributor or a set or points for my older vehicle once the electronic part fail or are ruined. I'm pretty sure a could fix up something off the crank that would fire 8 coils per 2 revolutions and replacement parts available if it ever failed, which it wouldn't and spark gap is the only maintenance required. Do the pulley right and it could also be the starting motor and the recharging device, that open up the possibility for it to run the newest electronic helpers if they are available or revert to the most basic manual mode that still leaves you with a very basic functioning power-plant.

Old ones would (edited would should be might). Newer vehicles not so much. I've heard a Faraday cage explained as anything that prevents signal from getting in. A microwave does that (entirely enclosed). Can you get cell signal in your car? If so, it's not a Faraday cage.
