"Nothing's not happening." ≠ "Something's happening."
"Nothing" isn't a thing that can happen (except relative to something), so

How we imagine double negatives to work: Negative x Negative = Positive
How they actually work: Nothing x Nothing = Nothing

You see, we consider words like "nothing, not, no, etc.." to be negative, but they are representations of nonexistence, and 0x0+0=0!!
