Re: Unexplained Experiences You Remember As A Child
I remember climbing up to a slit window in my fathers Dream/bunker/family house. The slit was about 6 feet high so I used my little ladder (from my cubby hole dad put up in the upper corner of the room) and climbed all the way up and looked out while my parents were putting my brother and I to bed.

I don't know why I did this; guess I was a little spaz of a kid...and looking back at me were two glowing red orbs... separated far enough apart to appear to me as eyes.

A lot of strange shit happened out there (ufo/paranormal) as a kid but that's one I can't quite figure out.

My parents looked out after I shot down to bed and covered myself with blankets and held my breath. They saw nothing but darkness (this was deep south in the middle of almost 500 acres.) Shit got dark

Re: Unexplained Experiences You Remember As A Child
One night getting up from my bed and setting my feet on the floor as my butt sits on the bed, I saw my cat in my doorway looking directly under my bed, then I felt a hand or something grab my ankle, and I just ran like hell to my parents room. Don't know if I was tripping or what, but the cat was staring directly at something it seemed, and I sure felt something grab my ankle.

I also had time seem to slow down in a soccer game once, 2 of us were jumping up to kick a ball in the air, and the other kid kicked my leg instead of hitting the ball and I was already in the air so starting to spin sideways a full 360 or more and fell to the ground, but just the aspect of falling/spinning felt like it went on for 5 seconds, doesn't sound intense, but that's about 4 seconds longer than it actually would have happened, it just stuck with me ever since, was surreal.

Re: Unexplained Experiences You Remember As A Child
Absolutely I came home from school one day and naturally being a latchkey kid I was alone. I was watching TV eating junk etc when I hear five loud bangs. I run upstairs and some how I know the bangs are coming from my parents room the closet is open so I shut it. I turn around and their is a little girl in pigtails sitting on my parents bed. She says "I live in the wall" and I say "what in the hell are you doing in here?" I thought she was a legitimate human until she faded right in front of me. I couldn't even scream I hauled ass down the steps out the door. I went to my neighbors house and called my parents who didn't believe me. She still haunts my dreams and I am now 27....only now she looks like a rotting corpse. In one of the dreams she was sitting in the tailgate of my truck I just don't know what the connection is.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1816481

I'm sure this still haunts you to this day. Have you ever tried any type of communication with her? Seems she was or still is trying to communicate something to you.
 Quoting: KIP

Well in another dream I was driving up on an intersection near my home and she was standing in the middle with her hand out for me to stop. I did and she told me she was killed by a drunk driver and the driver left the scene. I did some research and never found any evidence that proves that she ever existed.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1816481

Awesome that you further investigated it. Do these dreams or visions still occur?

Re: Unexplained Experiences You Remember As A Child
I was rather neglected and unloved as a child . One night after having put myself to bed and having shed a few tears , I looked across the room and there was a huge shining cross on the wall. Did not hear anything , I checked the windows to see if it was coming from outside , it was dark and nothing to cause it . I lay in bed looking at it until I fell asleep . That was long ago , but I have never doubted His love and that there is an awareness of our individual lives , especially the tears of children .

I had something like this as a child and while growing up. The closest thing I could find to "Describe" it is "Alice in Wonderland Syndrome"... to sum it up, its a distortion in your perception of depth. It's a weird feeling/experience, but it didn't really scare me. I was more curious than anything.
 Quoting: CriticalThinking

This sounds like a very interesting lead. I will see what I can find on it. Do you happen to have any links or videos explaining it more.

Thanks for sharing.
 Quoting: KIP

Sure thing. I just did a quick search and this video linked below describes it very well actually. Mind you.. I did not have any other "symptoms" that they say are associated with AWIS in the first half of the video. No headaches or migraines or paranoia. Simply.... "depth perception distortion" as I use to describe it to my friends in Jr High.

This happened more often when I was younger. Age 8-14 I'd say. Still happens SOMETIMES to this day but is far more rare.

Re: Unexplained Experiences You Remember As A Child
Went through a phase of intense deja vu experiences. Time seemed to stop but only for me. Stuff was happening around me and I knew what would happen next, or what someone would say next. I was six or seven. I'd ask other kids if they were experiencing the same thing, but they didn't know what I meant and my parents' explanations weren't convincing

One or two episodes of everything slowing right down. Extreme slow motion. People's faces in particular and their voices, which of course sounded weird and scary. Their mouths were in slow motion and their heads were magnified in size. Their voices sounded like vinyl records played at incorrect slow speed, although I only realised that later when I heard records played at slow speed. I was about six years of age when these experiences occurred

Strange episode once or twice where on the screen of my mind I saw large spheres rolling very slowly across the 'screen'. They made a sound similar to bowling balls, although I didn't hear bowling balls in reality until many years later. The balls were pale in colour. They rolled from right to left. Then the screen of my mind became filled with something messy and noisy, similar to the black and white fuzz that used to be on early tv, between transmissions. In amongst the black and white fuzz I could hear frantic engine sounds, similar to what you'd hear at a motorbike race. Then 'switch' and it was back to the spheres rolling majestically and quietly across again. Then more black and white fuzz and frantic motor sounds again, etc. Switched back and forth several times. I was about four at the time. I'd never seen tv or bowling balls or been to motorbike racing. Left a deep impression on me, obviously, as it was close to 60 years ago

Waiting for tea one evening, staring into the open fire. I was four or five. Saw 'myself' on what I later discovered was a galley (old type of ship). It was night. We'd docked at a stone harbour and were glad the voyage was over. 'I' felt overjoyed to be home again. I looked up the hillside which rose from the shore. Many houses, rising up the hillside. Lights inside. I could see my parents' house, high up. Lights inside revealed the arches all across the front. I knew they were waiting for me and had arranged a celebration for my return. 'I' was a young man. Fair, curling hair, bare chested, tanned, strong. In reality I was a little girl in the north of England who knew nothing of galleys or harbours or the scene I'd 'seen' while staring into the fire, yet all were shown in infinite detail during the vision, including the bustle of the harbour, the myriad objects in the galley and on shore, numerous other people, etc.

Last one. A dream or vision, I don't know which. Again, I was four or five in real life. In the dream I was standing in a town. High above me rose tall buildings. Their windows were black, dead. No one around. Just me and the tall, deserted buildings. I was puzzled by what I was seeing. Then, a moment later, I saw (still in the same dream) a small child crouched near a filthy puddle of water. Dramatic, highly coloured sky, mostly red colours. Nearby, a man and woman I didn't know were holding each other. They were sad. It seemed they were saying goodbye. I was sad because I had no-one. Next, I turned and looked at the landscape. Everything was barren, destroyed. And smoking or steaming. In the distance was a large town or city. Between the crouching child (possibly myself) was a lone tree. It was blackened and dead. From my adult perspective now, it was a destroyed and burned landscape - the world was destroyed. At the time, in reality, I was a small child living in a tiny village. I'd never seen any building taller than two storeys high. I'd never seen tall buildings like those in the dream, which now would be referred to as high-rise. I'd never seen a blackened landscape or a city or felt the utter desolation of the scene I'd witnessed

As I grew older I continued to experience unusual phenomena and have done so, spontaneously and at irregular intervals, lifelong
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 37799508

Wow! Thanks for sharing that. Have you ever written this all down in a journal or book? Something I would definitely purchase. Have you ever came to any kind of conclusion for yourself why you've experienced these things?

One summer night after church, my little sister and I ran down the street to get some candy at the corner confectionary. After we got our candy and went out the door we noticed, on the ground, next to the building, this brown paper bag moving like it was alive.

I moved my foot close to it and gently touched it to see if there might be a mouse or something trapped inside of it. Then all of a sudden, what we thought was a brown paper bag, spread open into the most gigantic pair of wings and flew up and away into the dark sky. I later did research and found out that it was some sort of rare moth, but I still freak out about it decades later and I've never seen another like it. It was HUGE!!!

It is the most vivid memory I have Mainly because I REALLY remember seeing Pure White light when I awoke It was like the beginning of my memory process. interesting how a child naturally copes with it parents. I think thats when I knew I was VERY different from other people. yay intj sociopthaicness.

Re: Unexplained Experiences You Remember As A Child
I remember playing with a "new kid" in the late 70's...

We played "CHIPS" patrol on our bikes in a circular courtyard...

This new kid was rammed by another and skinned his ankle between the pedal and a cement wall.

The kid ran off to a corner, leaving his bike there. I chased after him (I was really worried he was hurt). When I caught up to the kid, I saw that the skin was missing from his ankle bone, and there was a hole in his foot. In that hole was wires and metal. It was as if someone had hit a vase, knocked a hole in it, and the vase was full of wires and metal rods.

I even saw it "articulate" as he lifted his foot to cover it with his hand.

I freaked and ran home to tell my mom. She of course did not believe me. But because she is a nurse, she walked outside with me to check on him.

The court yard was empty, and the "new kid" was gone.

I stayed in the rest of that day.

The next day, I met my friends who had NO RECOLLECTION of the kid, nor any recollection of the event. Also, I never saw the "new kid" again.

As an adult in my 40's I can look back on many things in my life and write them off as my being stupid, young, etc...

This is one event that I never understood.

And looking back, I realize that I was ostracized by my friends. I was no longer "in". It was as if they were programmed to dislike me.

Oh well!

Re: Unexplained Experiences You Remember As A Child
When I was 4 years old two girls who looked to be in their teens came to the door and asked my mother if they could take me for a walk. We didn't know these girls, but my mom said I could. This part is strange enough, as my mom was very over protective and this was not something she would have done.

We walked down my street and they forced me to eat some grass. I began crying and begging them to take me home. My next memory is of being inside a dimly lit buildiing. It had the appearance of a doctor's office, but I can't say for sure. There was a person there that I thought was a doctor, but I only remember the back of his bald head. I don't remember entering or leaving the building, nor do I remember what happened inside the building. At the time, I thought the building was at the end of our dead end street, but there never was a building there.

I was shaking and crying as the two girls walked me home. They walked me up to my front porch and left. I ran in the house crying and my nose was bleeding. I told my mom and dad what happened and they didn't have much of a reaction. Again, this was not normal behavior for my parents. I was hysterical and asked my dad if he would go get the boy who lived down the street. He was 8 years old, and always looked out for me. He used to tell my mom he was going to marry me someday. I wouldn't calm down, so my dad walked down the road and got him for me. He comforted me while my parents behaved like spaced out zombies. (They were not on drugs)

I talked about this incident every day for awhile, but my parents have no memories of it. To this day my mom doesn't remember this, but she does remember me talking about it a lot . She says she remembers me running into a grocery cart at the store and I got a bloody nose, but doesn't remember this. I remember it vividly, as if it happened yesterday. I was traumatized by it for a quite some time.

The whole thing is so bizarre and makes no sense, but that's what happened and I'll never forget it.

And looking back, I realize that I was ostracized by my friends. I was no longer "in". It was as if they were programmed to dislike me.

Oh well!

Wow, my first thought would be some sort of prosthetic (advanced) but not sure if they had these types back then. Then you go on with what happened afterwards. Just wow! Just curious if there were any types of "military" bases near where you lived at the time.

I often wonder why strange things like this happen to us as a child. Things that are totally unexplainable.
