You can probably assume that whatever the "official" story is - will be a lie to some degree or another. Either they do not know and publish something to satisfy the public angst and fear or - they know what they're doing that probably caused it and don't want to admit to it in order to avoid liability for it.

Do not believe our own government or any other government. They only thing they ever do that is probably accurate or truthful is your tax bill and you need to always audit that for accuracy. Mistakes, when made, are seldom made in the taxpayers favor. No surprise there, eh??

These two approaches put the whole thing back in the Lap of "Mother" Nature... it is happening world wide.. and we have no idea how many sinkholes are occuring on the other 75% of the Earth's 'surface' the ocean floors and sea beds...
