I don't smoke but totally agree that the Government needs to keep there dick-beaters out of our lives.

I quit for 9 months. Every day had that little voice in the back of my head and craving for a smoke. Wasn't worth the insanity or being grumpy...

not a debate about smoking.

but of course Obama would like
people to see it as a debate on smoking
because it helps him get to his goal.
He taxes the most controversial product
on the market in his divide and conquer
tax strategy.

I don't think they will tax them til they are beyond 'reasonable' prices.

just every couple years, they'll add a bit more under the guise of making you stop. But we should be smarter than to assume they truly want to put big tobacco out of business.

indian reservation prices r now what pa used to b. they have come up alot ,thx ny state laws. price has tripled in under bout 7yrs. and that is buying the indian brand cigs. forget marlboro,etc u wont find em at the reservation. if u do deal with the indians do so with CASH. do not use checks /credit cards including mail-orders. uncle finds ppl n makes up his own fines based on what he thinks u saved over YEARS. i have heard of extreme cases.

i live in ny state. they taxed cigs n r going BROKE. took em ohhh over 5yrs for ONE congressman to finnally figure out taxen ppl n telling them to quit ment less $$$ to the state. NO DUHHHH OVER 5 YRS TO FIGURE THAT OUT!!! the nice state lotto which did well thru the recession was suppose to go to schools. WITHIN 2 yrs the schools project they will b broke also. we r the highest taxed in the nation,yes ny state is "proud" of that 1. however <<lol lol lol lol> we r the richest.
our minimum wage is higher than nation n going higher. this again was a great idea><< sarcasm>>> that failed. why do they raise min wage??? every $1 dollar u get they get a %. more dollars for u =more $$ for the gov. FAIL FAIL FAIL. cost of living increases big time. 1st time they did it cost me a dollar in pay. kinda like u take a cut. thats when i started buyin cigs elsewhere. each n every time the minimum wage went up cost went up n m,y wages were flat,hence it was like a cut in pay every time. ohhh n the poor ppl they aint no better off,actually worse,same amount of $$ on welfare n food stamps yet the costs have sky rocketted.

Actually I wish they would tax the hell out of alcohol, tobacco and sugar. We might then have a healthcare system we could afford.
