It is "automatically" void only when the Supreme Court voids it b/c they find it violating the Constitution (why do you think you hate adtivist judges? It does not become void after passed automatically. It is usually suspended by a regular judge "pending judicial review" but not always. It is a subtle distinction and you are correct in spirit, just thought you would want to know the subtle distinction. Lawyers and legalese destroyed our country. The Constitution and the protections in it are twisted until the original meaning is gone. It's basis was to control government overreach, not to restrict the people. It has been twisted by lawyers to become our shackles. I hope you're proud of your profession and what it has done to all of us. Oh for fuck's sake. Good job spreading your hate. It is so much better to hate someone who points out exactly what the constitution says without twisting it, right? And, just like any other group, some lawyers have screwed the system totally and some are the ones fiercely guarding our support of the bill of rights and constitution. Proud of some lawyers, not proud of others - not a trickly concept. I base my beliefs upon an individuals actions, not a group so broadly. Then there is a time frame to finish the 3/4 of the states. 5 years I think. If it does not pass by 3/4 in 5 years, it is dead. "5 years I think. If it does not pass by 3/4 in 5 years, it is dead." The time of ratificaction is not mandated except by the amendment resolution itself. It could say 90 days, it could say 100 years.. there is no fast and hard constitutional rule as to how long a Constitution Amendment ratification 'vote' is to last or die. I think that is correct, I will check on it. There is a time limit for state's to ratify but I am not sure whether it can vary. YOU are one that knows the law, including the second amendment and can defend it properly, thank you for doing so. Please keep educating others.
