The fact is, those people can't fix their Windows box either. So I figure, if I'm going to help them, may as well install Linux. The chance of it breaking is much lower, and it's easier to fix if it does break.

To manage a forest of hundreds and thousands of computers, across countries, branches, there simply isn't any other viable system available on this planet. Windows Server is what you got. Theres thousands of systems in every fucking office building, all running the thing. They load their policy when logging in and you could nail their box to what letters they are allowed to use on their keyboard. You can forget about Linux for that. Theres another company involved in that business nobody ever talks about, it's name is IBM.

I use Linux a lot, but there are things you just can't do with it. Beside webservers there are a couple of other apps computers are used for.
Google has the power to do it. Their private networks and proprietary datacenters allows for some good stunts.

I have a new windows 8 HP desktop with windows 8 and no touch screen monitor and it works just fine if you have an I.Q of 1 or more. My three kids use it everyday for social and school related projects and play the latest video games on it and oh yeah - the best part is we have had it since Christmas and it only cost $400. I forgot to mention it has a 1 TB hard drive as well. So you idiots can go kiss on your overpriced apple gadgets and leave the reviews to the ones that own the product.

Not only does Google make extensive use of Linux for their webservers, they have also produced two Linux-based operating systems for general release: Android and ChromeOS.
