You people are really (imo) kinda out of touch about this whole issue.. All this will do is increase the crime rate. People going to get what they want or need, one way or the other..Be it drugs or food. This is a big mistake.. Besides that, welfare only accounts for about 3% of the whole budget. (or used to) Crime will go up much higher. Heaven forbid one of those ways would be to gain employment... hi |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 37199740 United States 04/11/2013 08:41 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Lots of welfare money goes right to corporations who happen to bankroll the political vermin . Political vermin who happen to have large cashflows in many cases from welfare money . Cut off all the drug users and the police industry will have to start really harassing the public to keep their jobs. So this ain't all that and a bag of chips , it is just bullshit smoke and mirrors , nothing too see here move along . fail 3 tests ? LOL what are the chances of being tested ? LOL yeah one test every four years and thats if they are unlucky . shit shit and more shit |

Or even worse, with a stolen social.. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 36876191 United States 04/11/2013 08:44 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | They just want to find a way to punish people on welfare, even though most people on drugs are those who have jobs, not people on welfare. LM@O !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so RANDOM DRUG TESTING in the workplace is WHAT ???? do we agree with NO PROBABLE CAUSE for those breaking their ass and payong taxes ??? no and welfare parasites are not above it or a protected species. |

Quoting: WeRdOOmed The bill passed Wednesday temporarily cuts off benefits to drug users, with a permanent ban after three failed drug tests. Money would still go to an applicant's minor children through a third party. The bill now goes to the House for consideration. Sorry, Rick Scott tried that and they caught something like .008% of recepients while costing millions to do it. The cost benefit analysis says FAIL. Oh, and our economy is shit compared to Texas so if I had to guess who was caught it was probably all grad students enjoying a bit of reefer. So...good luck with that. |

The slave "Masters"! Who collects TAX revenue from the sales of drugs, directly through legalized drug sales, and indirectly through illegal drug sales? Who collects TAX revenue from the sales of Alcohol, Tobaco, and Firearms? And some of you people think that God blesses America? Yeah, right, sure. |

Just saying how it is, or will be, not saying it's right.. , the only way to break the chains of welfare is to recondition/relearn them off welfare, that will take a least one generation.. which will never be done because they are the anchor of the Democrats voting base... And gain employment how??? That's not in the plans for anybody in this country at this time. ============================ For the record: i don't believe in drug testing/ or that anyone should be drug tested unless there's reasons to believe the person may be on drugs.. you people welcome your chains.. Anonymous Coward User ID: 12182882 United States 04/11/2013 08:48 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This is a step in the right direction, but not far enough... Get rid of welfare! Get rid of it! Get rid of unemployment! Get rid of it! Get rid of income tax! Get rid of it! (For those of you who believe in class warfare) The rich don't pay it anyway! Return the money to the States, the counties, and the cities. Don't pay for bureaucrats to run drug tests! Don't pay for bureaucrats to run your lives! Run your own lives! Get to know your community! Make friends! Make yourself reliant on yourself and your neighbors in a time of crisis! Make communities! Without communities the Federal Government has absolute authority, and all of sudden we have no choice on what new program we pay for, and we have no control over how it's administered, or how poorly it used and abused. At least if charity were run on a county level, I could make sure the funds were given to the right people. All a drug test will do is a net loss to the tax payer. It will create a few jobs which produce nothing, create more paperwork, loopholes, and inefficiency. Any social program at the federal and most of the times state level has been abused, and is run poorly. socialism only works if it's with less then 150 people. Any more then that and it falls apart and becomes totalitarianism. It's a poor system of government, and a form of wealth redistribution. We need to level the playing field! No person gets anything more then another. No unfair advantages! No bailouts! If you fail as a person, a corporation, etc, you better have friends to help you out, and guess what if you or your company is an A$$hole? Then you starve and die! This BS of more equal, of more in need is destroying this country! Sorry, I know that was a little too ranty, but I figured I'd share. I just needed to get that off my chest. |

Damrod User ID: 6266696 United States 04/11/2013 08:50 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | As the poster above pointed out, the testing cost Florida many times more than what they saved by "catching" welfare drug users. It's somewhat akin to the madness of the "War on Drugs". Huge expenditure, little or no progress. There has to be a better way of handling things...I just don't know what it is. When the cost of doing something consistently out weighs the benefits, it is broken. Fiscal responsibility comes first and foremost. You don't waste money and you don't spend money that you don't have. Throwing money down the toilet just so some "pothead" can't have it is actually quite insane. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 10910044 United States 04/11/2013 08:50 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It sounds good until you encounter the fact that "drug" testing really means marijuana testing. Marijuana is not a drug anymore than broccoli or dandelions, but because of it's persistence in fatty tissue, it remains detectable long after TRUE drugs - artificial chemicals produced in labs - have dissipated. Heroin users can then laugh at their far-more-innocent Cannabis smoking friends as they continue to collect their welfare benefits. But people who suck the tit of the working people and then want to spend that money on drugs. Should not be givin said help. Yeah but you must realise, that without the druggie scum, you have no benchmark to measure your fine self against, and thus no-one to belittle in order to validate your crawl up onto your high horse. So judgmental. You act as though the life of a drug addict is more pleasurable than your own. Ever stop to wonder why people take drugs to begin with? No probably not. |
