This to give some not so obvious reasons more why these celebrations have been seen. Just sayin'.

Unemployment was massive, and there were very few jobs, and no worthy schemes. My friends were forced into training schemes that were extremely open to abuse. Those creative, and with pride swelled the counter-culture, and drove the free festival scene that many 100s of thousands loved . The punk's 'no future' slogan really was a prevalent idea amongst my generation and the festivals spelled hope. The summer festivals of these folk, at Stonehenge and the like, were ruthlessly, and with extreme prejudice, crushed with the newly militarised police force, battle torn from the miner's situation that most of us in the south(inc. London) just saw on the TV; The 'Peace convoy', enablers of the festivals, experimenting with finding a less bleak way of life, and mostly hippy middle class young people running things, was destroyed with unprovoked ultraviolence whilst en-route to common land (Youtube, 'The Beanfield'). Babes in arms covered in shattering glass, dogs killed, homes wrecked, bad story. John Major continued her assault on to the 'rave' scene ( criminal justice bill, against 'repetitive beats', gatherings) In short, she made an enemy of a significant portion of entire generations. She attacked the youth, and the counter-culture here. I feel that there was, during her 'reign', one particularly bad period to leave school that must have touched many.
Why vote her in ? One reason-The Poll tax we got rid of (:)), but until it was re-jigged (badly) an awful lot of people just refused to pay it, and the courts were wildly clogged with those doing that, and so a lot of the poor evaded any payment whatsoever by not registering on electoral lists that would be necessary if you wanted to vote.. Youtube 'the poll tax riots', and google( I doubt they'l be on YT) 'stop the city' marches, and remember that our youth movements inspire across the world.

Five years after the hospital attack, he abused a second victim during another black mass ceremony held at a house in a wealthy London street.

The woman was 21 at the time and was made to attend an orgy, which later took on a darker twist.

Dr Sinason, director of the Clinic for Dissociative Studies in London, said: “A second victim approached me in 1993. She said she had been ‘lent out’ as a supposedly consenting prostituted woman at a party in a London house in 1980.

“The first part of the evening started off with an orgy but half-way through some of the participants left.

“Along with other young women, the victim was shepherded to wait in another room before being brought back to find Savile in a master of ceremonies kind of role with a group wearing robes and masks. Although the girl was a young adult, who was above the age of consent, she had suffered a history of sexual abuse and was extremely vulnerable.”

Both victims contacted Dr Sinason, who is president of the Institute of Psychotherapy and Disability, while she was involved in a Department of Health-funded study into sexual abuse committed during rituals and religious ceremonies. She said: “Both these witnesses did speak to police at the time but were vulnerable witnesses and on encountering any surprise or shock did not dare to give all the details.”
