Well, what information? If it was worth stealing then it is worth knowing.

Well he was working in aviation safety before he was arrested. There are some who think congress is engaging in a witch hunt. I think Jiang was small fries for political points, but I also think there is a real underlying issue of chinese nationals sneaking research data back to china. I'm speaking from personal experience of my own research data mysteriously going missing and the likely culprits being chinese nationals - no I don't work for NASA or even in aerospace, but if I'm having issues, I have no doubt a target as large as NASA is having issues. I have a cousin in the FBI who strongly hinted that he has reason to believe this is a real problem right now.

Then why is the data not available to the public yet, the things that are allowed to be open.

I mean now that I have looked at some of the details of the reports, I would like to read the whole report. Plus I'm sure there are more I haven't found yet that I would like to also read.

You mean NTRS? Yeah, I loved that site, I'm really not happy that it's gone. There was a lot of really useful data on there. It won't be available to the public again until NASA decides it's safe to make it available; given the current political pressure they won't open it back up until they're damn sure that there is not an iota of material in there in violation of ITAR regulations. Unfortunately since it is a massive database spanning decades and multiple programs/missions, and because of the vague nature of ITAR regs, they do not know where all the offending material might be, so they can't just open it back up again with certainty that it's in compliance.

Which makes it sound like a bunch of BS coming from them, the regulations anyway. Because don't we share that data with other space agencies already?
