If we ban all guns and someone is mentally ill/angry/wants to hurt someone/steal.. we're going to be safe because they can't get a gun, right?
I guess they wouldn't use knives, bats, fists, pepper spray, home made explosive devices, box cutters, machetes, hammers, cars, rope/cord, tazers or chemicals etc etc? People are going to give up killing eachother and we're going to live in the Land O' Butterflies if we ban guns, right?

What's the daydream, that we're going to ban guns and all the millions of illegal guns in circulation will disappear? ..or we'll be able to confiscate and destroy them all? Then law enforcement won't need guns right, because we don't need any more innocent bystanders shot by trigger happy LE?

I don't think everyone should be armed by any stretch, but I do believe that as American citizens, we have the right to defend ourselves. The Declaration of Independence says that we all are endowed the unalienable Right of LIFE.

No matter how you feel about it, in 4 years ALONE in Barry's first term, 67,000,000 guns were LEGALLY bought. Do a little math and factor in some averages including the 160,000,000 NICS checks for legal firearm purchases in just the last 14 years. The ATF conservatively estimates there are 300,000,000 guns in the States. That's 1 gun PER PERSON.
So how do you plan on going about and collecting 300 MILLION guns? Do you think this will be a safe and successful endeavor? Without taking sides, we know this is not even logistically possible, let alone millions of illegal firearms.
