The real Paul McCartney
He chose to left the band in 1966 to live his life out of the business, and the record company put a double to replace him.

He does bear a striking resemblance. More so than the current Paul. I believe the auto accident story though.

Re: The real Paul McCartney
Thank you, OP !!

I've been looking for this

Who is this guy? What's the background to the video ? Is he being interviewed by media ? Or is he 'just a guy' whom someone (possibly in the know) took the opportunity to film ?

Do you know the name of the guy in the video?

Is his age known ?

How old is the video, do you know ?

As far as the 'official' Paul, he's clearly not the Paul we knew back at the start. Not knocking the current Paul - he's given his life to the role

There were fake Lennons too. Some were more Lennon than Lennon himself

Fake George and fake Ringo

Back in the early days of Beatles hysteria, they had at least three Pauls, apparently. The US saw a different Paul to people in the UK and Australia, Japan, etc

The only thing that might indicate the guy in your video is not the real Paul is the fact the video guy still has quite a bit of hair, whilst 'real' Paul (or should say, the one we believed to be the real Paul, although it could have been another double) was bald. There are photos on the Paul is Dead sites showing a very old clip of the Beatles performing - and Paul's wig lifts off his head for an instant during one of the scream and shout sessions. It flops back a microsecond later

Thanks again for this. It is uncannily like real Paul -- especially the mugging for the camera, right at the end

The guy in the video could outdo the current 'Faul' at playing Paul without even trying, eh?

Yes, it's the original Paul McCartney. The car crash story was first invented but the record company prefered to put a double to replace him.

[link to i1050.photobucket.com]
 Quoting: Instant Karma

The real Paul ... true Paul ... WAS short - was 5'6 or 5'7 tops, maybe shorter

They've been messing around with the evidence for decades and since photoshop, they've virtually eradicated the true Paul from history by stretching his height to match the current fake Paul, who was three or four inches taller than the genuine Paul

They also stretch photos of true Paul to match current fake Paul's face. True Paul had a rounded head. The current fake Paul has a long, narrow head

True Paul had a rounded face. Today's fake Paul has a long face

So they stretch photos of true Paul to make him look like today's fake Paul. Fake Paul has a long chin. True Paul did not

Fake Paul has detached earlobes. True Paul had attached earlobes, like the guy in the video

The guy in the video is a FAR better match for true Paul than fake Paul could ever be

The resemblance is truly unnerving. When John Halliday opens the door of 20 Forthlin Road - Paul McCartney's childhood home - you really do believe for a minute that you're in the presence of the celebrated Beatle himself.

his "name" is John Halliday

THANK you, OP

This is so synchronistic. Only last week, I began looking again at new information which has emerged in the years since I last spent a lot of time on the Paul is Dead type sites

I noted the name John Halliday, but didn't see the video you've put up

Halliday was a French actor, wasn't he? Or maybe he was a French pop star -- involved with a girl (can't remember her name at the moment) with whom Paul had also become involved during the time period he supposedly died in the car accident. There was also a belief that Paul had been murdered and when his body was discovered on a beach in France after being with the French girl, crabs had eaten away his face, revealing his teeth. It was claimed, years ago, that this was the basis for the Walrus and John saying at the end of the song, 'The Walrus Was Paul' -- because Paul looked similar to a walrus when his body was found

In Glass Onion, the Beatles imply Paul was buried at sea, 'plugging a hole in the ocean'. All of which, with the walrus claims, was depressing as hell to even consider

Then there was the suspicion that Paul hadn't died at all but had simply dropped out. There were photos on various sites ten or so years ago, showing a middle aged guy walking through London, nicely dressed in overcoat with attaché case, but unremarkable within the crowd. People spent a lot of time measuring facial features, etc. and believed it could be the older, alive Paul

The guy in the video you've put up is the closest I've seen to the real Paul .. the one we knew from 50 years ago, particularly that little facial thing he does right at the end

You've revived my interest in this again and I'm delighted to see the video. It is so much like the real Paul. The chattiness is genuine. Not like today's fake Paul who tries to emulate real-Paul's chatty, humorous personality, but can't really pull it off convincingly for those of us who remember the true Paul McCartney

Thanks again hf

it was positively insane for them. everywhere they went together or individually somehow there would be people seeking salvation, redemption, healing, to touch them, or what have you. there was good reason John made his "more popular than Jesus" statement. that was the stark reality they experienced with people who didn't come to hear them sing. and it never ended.

Thanks for the article, Force King

hf

Article dated 2003, when John Halliday was 55. Would make him 65 today - give or take a few years, depending on the accuracy of Halliday's age

Resemblance unnerving alright

Would be interesting to see photos of the young Halliday. He would have to have been a dead spit of the true McCartney

Money, money and ruthless middle-men

Sad to have seen, years ago, the real McCartney's father posing with today's fake Paul to substantiate the fakery

Thanks again for that article. I'd never seen it before. Have saved it

I read an article online only a day or so ago, strangely enough. Didn't spend a lot of time on it, but people were saying today's technology can do anything

Apparently photos and even videos are 'reversed'. And to further the deception, they even go to such lengths as sewing buttons on the different side, etc

They've certainly gone to extraordinary lengths with the fake Paul

There are those who've known only the fake, so to them, he's the real deal

It's to be doubted anyone will ever know the truth. It's gone too far. Too much money at stake. There would even be those who'd suicide or sue

As to why -- if Halliday is in fact the genuine article -- he'd act or pose as caretaker to his childhood home, who can say. There's humour and irony in it, for sure. Plus, if the claims of several different Pauls in the early days is true, it might be that Halliday was one of the better doubles who was put out of work once today's version was cemented in as 'the one'

The middle-men were skinning the Beatles alive, financially. They hit big in approx. 1962. Many suspect the real Paul was out of the picture to a large extent by 1964, with a series of doubles playing a role almost from the start, in order they could meet their live-show commitments. So that would make two or three years for real Paul, with the middle-men taking the biggest slices of pie

If it's true their music was being written by alphabet agency types (to avoid a ban for naming the agency direct) there would have been little for real Paul in the way of royalties anyway

Whatever the case, Halliday is the closest I've seen and heard to the original Paul

not sure what happened to or with jp mccartney - other than he dropped out of sight in '66 never to return - but if he was looking for a reason to duck out the constant manic attention he had most among all of them would be it. this fellow at the old house is intriguing but powerful forces were dead set against them so it would be nice to think paulie is old and back at home.
