Watching the water moving back and forth, makes it seem like waves in the ocean. I wonder if anyone has looked into the tidal patterns of the coast, timed them, to see if they coincide with movement of the water in the sinkhole.

where else would it be tied to? streams dont ebb and flow, ponds dont ebb and floww..

Not to be too 'far out there' ... but I've said it before and I'll say it again - for some reason I have a feeling this whole area is going to dissolve into the GoM. Maybe with the change in tectonic plate pressures (all that earth now in the ocean off the bedrock) could set off the NM fault ??? If so, welcome to the Edgar Cayce map of North America.

the potentially explosive salt domes go all the way to the GOM don't they? and the GOM has been leaking methane all this time. it's also a dump for old munitions and stuff. seems like it could set off the GOM, the new madrid, all the gas pipelines going up north. explode the nuke plants on the new madrid. it looks baaaaddd.

I keep watching that part of the video looking for another explanation, I've been unable to find one.

All I can think off is that water coming out from the ground is displacing the water above, forcing it to make way for new outbursts of water and "pushing" the surface water aside, making it ebb and flow about without a direct exit point.

Only tricky thing to explain now is why there is water and not contaminated waste coming out by now. Can anyone give a quick summary of what's stored there?
