These people are stunningly devoid of basic compassion and oblivious to the pain, suffering and cruelty they are inflicting upon these animals. How eating a LIVING creature is appealing is beyond me. How watching a dog being boiled alive slowly --skinning its fur off first--is just SICK.

I was in Vietnam a few years ago and I asked our guide about their eating dogs--and the cruel way they die. His answer was "My dog is my pet. YOUR dog is my dinner."

I am a Chinese, i have a puppy, i washed her feet each time when i finished walking her. There is a dog slaughterhouse near my house, I have to keep my dog far from that place that is what i can do. Many people have a pet dog In China, some like to eat them,mostly peasants. Meanwhile we have protest movement going on all the time, but i never attempt any, can't change the situation, unless knocked those dog eating people in jail.

This is not my personal petition. I'm just a "messenger" hopping that this horrible cruelty will be known to as many people as possible and some of them would be helpful to this case like for example "Telling it Straight" with her link for donations.

However, I believe if millions would sign this petition there will be a pressure on our politicians to have a talk with Chinese ambassadors.

What do you expect will help these poor dogs if we don't do anything about it? It's a start!

I can dig it, I'm up with that trend of thought. Personally I love my dogs with no intentions of eating them. But who am I if you want to bar-b-que yours? Why can't people mind their own damn business? Just make sure dog doesn't wonder into the neighbors yard.

P.S. We have a Laotian community a few miles from here. You never see any stray dogs and cats over there. Seriously.

I signed a petition for free Tibet back in university about 12 or 13 years ago. I then found out many years later when trying to enter china that my I am banned from entering the country die to that petition.

Glad you responded to give us a perspective from someone living in China. I do think protests help change public opinion over time. It is incredibly hard for us to understand how the people slaughtering the dogs fail to see or understand the intense suffering and pain they are causing the animals.

Speak for yourself. I'm pretty outraged about that story too and how the msm isn't covering it at all.

Actually, that isn't entirely true.

Most restaurants will put a knife down through the head of the lobster, killing it instantly.

You can also put them in the freezer for a little while, and it will put them to sleep so that they won't feel anything when you boil them. They die within a few seconds and don't know what's happening.

Only monsters still boil them alive.

Thank you for your post. I know that lots of people have pet dogs in China and take good care of them. It's your government who allows this inhumane cruelty. Before Olympics in China the government paid for "dog catchers" who were beating to death all stray dogs with baseball bats. I saw photos of this horror on the internet. Chinese government wanted to show the world how clean streets they have...

I have read about some Chinese millionaire who died because someone poisoned his dog meat dish, so not only peasants eats them, unfortunately....

I'm sorry, but a petition to save dogs in China? We have a nation waging thermo-nuclear war with us as we speak (At least so they say) and we should worry about dogs in China?
We live in a nation who's public education system is adopting new mindless indoctrination programs the likes of common core, and I need to try to save a dog?

I see the scenerios you mention about were very true. The thing is our city combine both modern and farming culture all together. Those dog eater also the hard working people, some get rich but still keep their barbarism custom, they are vulgar but you can't get rid off them.

Most Chinese, and I mean most, would be horrified at the way these dogs are purportedly being treated. You think most Chinese don't have dogs as pets? Of course they fucking do, millions of them, they love their dogs.
