Do what I do, cut off all connections unless I am using it. I found that over half of my neighbors were burning up some much of my bandwidth that I was no longer able to download anything, including e-mails. My wife wanted the wifi connection so she can walk all over the house with her toys, and she can never remember any passwords. I explained the problem and told her what I was going to do. She just looked at me with a dumb look on her face, a different dumb look, and I explained that if she wants to go online, she was going to have to ask me.
