It is probably a hymn lamenting the Jewish people in exile after the fall of Jerusalem in 586 BCE. It starts with the somewhat pleasant words "By the rivers of Babylon" but it is how it ends that relates to this topic. Psalm 137:9 Happy (shall he be), that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones. This absolutely outrageous last line is an utter disgrace! How can it be a part of "GOD's WORD"? All you people who defend the BIBLE as GOD's Word need to consider these passages very carefully. Would your GOD approve of such atrocities? Judges 11:30-31 And Jephthah vowed a vow unto the LORD, and said, If thou shalt without fail deliver the children of Ammon into mine hands, Then it shall be, that whatsoever cometh forth of the doors of my house to meet me, when I return in peace from the children of Ammon, shall surely be the LORD'S, and I will offer it up for a burnt offering. Now who should come from the doors of the house on his return but his only child, his daughter! How many women "with child" were drowned by GOD intentionally? How many "INNOCENT" unborn babies, babies, infants, toddlers & children were drowned?
