Re: Forgotten "Alien Contact"
hmm

Voynich Manuscript

....

An expensive, old, unique text that has been traded for centuries for a good deal of fortune.

Unreadable and resisting attempts at translation,

Despite the fact that the language 'seems familiar', does it not?

....

What is a 'monolith'? Like in the movie?

[link to en.wikipedia.org]

Could dropping a giant, perfectly carved rectangular rock really spark intelligence?

How?

Why?

Then what?

Do the aliens try to 'kickstart' again?

Teaching us agriculture, perhaps?

Giving us a language simple enough for relatively quick absorption, and indeed, simple enough that development is a matter of course?

Cause after all.....

Chipping away at that old block no doubt left us with a good supply of tools, for which we previously had no use.

What if those early hominids were told that the stone contained something?

.....

What is more likely?

An ape that likes cake?

Or an ape that decides to use stone and wood tools to farm plants, out of the blue?

That's a pretty cool historical enigma, but I don't think it has to do actually with some sort of alien contact (but who knows)...

Probably the key about your "monolith" (aside Arthur C. Clarke's & Kubrick's) is swiming or diving in the universal mythology ocean...

Yes I know the Voynich does not mention aliens.... wink

And indeed.... I just finished positing the 'key' to the monolith! There is no key. It is merely motive!

Yep, but if I get right what your point is, you wonder about the inception of human culture (that's an old anthropological egg-chicken zen-like paradox: the humans make culture, or the culture makes humans? Pre-humans, as the australopithecus, had material culture; chimpanzees have their own cultural skills, for example...)

The problem I have with this is that the kids ran away screaming. When I see these things I am usually mesmerized or entranced or paralyzed. I don't feel panicked. So I am guessing that this could have been a stunt. Not Aliens but some Government thing that was testing how people would react.

Re: Forgotten "Alien Contact"
About the Ruwa affair, actually no adult saw what the children alleged they have seen (I thought some of their teachers was a witness too, but I was wrong, I see now...) The whole thing happened in less than 20 minutes, meanwhile the teachers were reunited with the school's director.

There's a facebook page on the Ruwa's Ariel School. You can see there pics of some of the school's kids in 1995... Sincerely, they don't seem a bunch of little "liars" at all... (of course childrens can lie and even are able of worst things)

As I said, I love the Ruwa's case, and, by now, I believe in the integrity of the testimonies, I don't think it's merely a childish fabulation from an actually prosaic episode (like men at work with machines in the school's vicinity or something so) ...

Re: Forgotten "Alien Contact"
Those of us who have had the experience of seeing a UFO or who have had even closer experiences are convinced deep in our minds. I for one am totally confidant in the knowledge of their existence and do not feel the need to convince anyone else.

Having the truth laid out before me has given me a calmness on the subject and I can smile at the mistrust of others who have NOT shared the knowledge.

I have confidence that all will be revealed in good time. It is simply interesting to read about the experiences of others who either swear UFOs exist or are a fabrication of a deluded mind.

There is a personal power in knowing the truth as well as knowing you do not have to prove it to anyone else.

There is also humor in watching the naysayers trying so very hard to disprove any accounts of contacts.

Thanks, my friend is very dedicated to the research, and he thinks that the Ruwa case and perhaps only a handful more hold the elements to become the so much sought after "proof". However, the extra terrestrial hypothesis is not the only one.

Now, as I see a some mentions of the grey - mantis relationship, I think this analysis made by other of my friends, this time about the famous Kumburgaz UFO evidence, will hold special interest.

The article is very, very interesting, my friend, but I think the interpretations about the lights, shadows and blurred or even openly amorphous shapes visible on that "thing" (and the suspected stuff about the mantis/greys in classic action plus guest abducted star) are a bit forced and hyperimaginative... But, well, that's "an interpretation", of course.

Well, I just forgot to mention some things that make this even more interesting: The author of the analysis is an advanced optical engineer, that started this as an attempt to debunk this as a fake video. He also worked with the original files, sent to him by the Turkish ufologist. This case has make this optical engineer become almost obsessed with this thing. He still does not believe this is proof of ETs, he inclines more for other hypothesis (crononauts, fo instance).
