BTW, if you are ever forced to transport a loved one with a traumatic amputation, ELEVATE the arm/leg to help the vasoconstriction create clots to stop the loss of fluid. Put your loved one on his/her back and elevate the injured extremity. If your loved one is hemorrhaging liters, PUT ON A TOURNIQUET. Don't apply a tourniquet unless there is a life threatening hemorrhaging (you will instinctively know this as your loved one will be breathing very rapidly and liters of blood will be everywhere). A tourniquet can cause more tissue/vascular damage that may also need to be amputated in surgery. Only use one to save a life. That's what I noticed right away.. The wheelchair. The lower half of this person should have been elevated to help with keeping the blood pressure up, right? Letting severed limbs dangle is so wrong in so many ways. |

| Anonymous Coward User ID: 33142471  Canada04/16/2013 02:56 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My brother and I at age 12 and 11 were chopping away at a grouping of big rotten old trees with hatchets in the woods away from the house quite a bit..when the tree was about to fall it kind of leaned against the other tree and the sharp end came straight down through my brother's femur bone . the tree then tipped over and ripped out of his leg.. happened very quick..wood chips all over he somehow was standing against a tree, pants ripped open muscles hanging out of an open wound from his ass to past his knee..major damage !.SO scared, i thought he would never make it. I fucking ran as fast as i could to get back to the house and call 9/11. got my dad to call and then run to help him.. he was still standing there with our dog. Dad carried him back to the house..we lived at least 20 miles from EMS. took over half hr for ambulance to get there.he was going into shock .the point of this story is ..there was almost NO BLOOD at all. we were ready to do a tourniquet but it must have missed his major veins and /or released a large dose of vasopressin.. He made it to the ER..broken femur... crushed knee..one thigh is a big awesome scar . funny shit that kid was on pain killers!! LOL!! he needed to be in traction for about 5 months and had a couple major scab infection surgeries, tons of PT. He's all good now with just the slightest tweak of a limp when he runs. I saw a bunch of people with lower extremity injuries that were in wheel chairs. |

My daughter-in-law's uncle was in this marathon and her cousin was there also. I don't know if the cousin was also in it or there to support her dad in the race. Her uncle crossed the finish line prior to this happening. I don't know how much they saw or heard following the explosion. I only know they weren't hurt. She's still trying to get details from her uncle to see what she can find out. I can only imagine the shock her family is in over this! Not to mention that whole survivor's guilt thing:( She is so relieved that her family wasn't hurt by this!! I would sure like to talk to them and see if i can find out if they saw or heard anything unusual prior to the explosion! Real truth is self evident... |

No one was caught on tape shooting anyone. No video evidence of Adam Lanza shooting any teachers or children. No actual video evidence of anyone being blown up or injured in the Boston explosions. I might would believe this stuff if there were video evidence, which can still be manipulated, but I WILL NOT take the media's word on anything. They just lie too much. Maybe someone can zoom in on the footage of the explosions and see if they clearly discern anyone being injured or killed. Until I see video proof, I'm not believing this mess. Call me crazy or insensitive, I don't care. My points are valid and I make plenty of sense. And so do others who share the same views. |
| Boognish User ID: 32242433 United States04/16/2013 05:16 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My brother and I at age 12 and 11 were chopping away at a grouping of big rotten old trees with hatchets in the woods away from the house quite a bit..when the tree was about to fall it kind of leaned against the other tree and the sharp end came straight down through my brother's femur bone . the tree then tipped over and ripped out of his leg.. happened very quick..wood chips all over he somehow was standing against a tree, pants ripped open muscles hanging out of an open wound from his ass to past his knee..major damage !.SO scared, i thought he would never make it. I fucking ran as fast as i could to get back to the house and call 9/11. got my dad to call and then run to help him.. he was still standing there with our dog. Dad carried him back to the house..we lived at least 20 miles from EMS. took over half hr for ambulance to get there.he was going into shock .the point of this story is ..there was almost NO BLOOD at all. we were ready to do a tourniquet but it must have missed his major veins and /or released a large dose of vasopressin.. He made it to the ER..broken femur... crushed knee..one thigh is a big awesome scar . funny shit that kid was on pain killers!! LOL!! he needed to be in traction for about 5 months and had a couple major scab infection surgeries, tons of PT. He's all good now with just the slightest tweak of a limp when he runs.
