According to my Investment Banker friends this was a epic pump and dump.

According to my friends a group either saw an opportunity to cash in or another group wanted to destroy the bitcoin.

I thought BT was a banned word/subject.

You know how it works on this fair and balanced forum...

Glad to see it's not!
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 38087315

I think trin just ban filtered the word to stop the retard shills spamming about it every five minutes.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 37021243

5 mins?, a little while ago it was every other feckin thread on page 1!.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 17218071

You misred what i meant by the post.

The word was ban filtered for a couple of weeks to stop shills posting buy shitcoin referral links constantly.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 37021243

No I understood.

Sounds like someone does not know how to play markets and didnt get to profit by shorting at the peak. Thats ok, stand on the sidelines and fling your poo while we take profit.

THIS

Shitboin was worth $10 a few months ago. It's a crypto-currecy. If you want to use it to play as a stock-trader then that's up to you. Many people knew it was a bubble at $250 per coin.

BTW trinity, yes, there are ways to cash out $1,000,000 in shitcoin. Or, you could use it to invest in another crypto-currency, buy metals, or convert your coins to another currency at alot of different etraders. I can buy pretty much anything I want with shitboin now anyway, preferably metals.

There are multiple competing cryo-currencies atm, shitboin is just one of them. If it doesn't do that well, then currency like Litecoin will take it's place until a new standard emerges.

BTW there are no 'federal regulations' against shitboin atm, that's a lie.

Okay, one more update and an important one...

Ecardone is doing exchanges (selling and buying) from and to BT to LR (Liberty Reserve), Wire, Ukash, SEPA and debit cards.

I have used Ecardone for many years. They are reliable and fast.

I got into bitcoin during that rise in popularity. earned up a few bitcoins, 4 or 5. i was mining on the deepbit server.

i opened a dwolla account, tranfered my bitcoins to mtgox and sold them for USD. not much, less than 200. would have been more had I sold during the epic rise last year. would have been over 1000 if I held and sold this week.

But yes, I sold my bitcoins for USD.

I used to be very active in the "alternative" money forms, years ago. Anyone remember e-gold, Evocash, Picpay, etc.?

I agree with Trin that there is a smell to it. It will most likely collapse at some point or it will be impossible to withdraw.

But right now, it's still possible to exchange your BT for real money, it seems.

The ONLY real protection against hyperinflation and SHTF is the agricultural LAND with a water source.

After that, guns & ammo.

Not if it cant be defended.

If you have farmland and the government need it, they will tax you on crops or nationalize the land in the event of serious SHTF.

+1. Further, you don't really own it even if you can defend it. You have to pay taxes on it. If you don't pay, you will lose your ability to do anything as they confiscate everything you have to pay them. Ask Wesley Snipes about not paying taxes.

Defending it is different too. Do you mean, someone is going to come on to your property guns blazing and try and take it? Are they that stupid? Or are they going to set up a road block with dozens of officers, cut off power, and wait you out. Or maybe send in a robot, or a drone, or a robot drone with killer bees that shoot out of it's mouth.

Bitcoin is a real way to defend yourself from all governments. It allows you to have money that THEY cannot take away. Whether it prospers time will tell, but it is the beginning.

It's stupid because as the number of bitcoins increases, they become much more difficult to mine.

To cash out of bitcoins;
all you have to do is find someone dumber than you
who is willing to give you cash for your bitcoins.

Funny. Tried to post a joke on the silver mine collapse thread asking if any bitcoin miners were trapped and my post was blocked. Now we can mention bitcoin?

I am starting to sell some of my digital products at half price if people pay with bitcoin. I happy to own bitcoin as it is a trend the will continue to catch on.

About 8 or 9 years ago, I was selling my worthless Picpay to local idiots for real money.

I don't feel I tricked them. First of all, I gave them a serious discount and secondly, I told them Picpay was worthless. Nevertheless, they wanted it and were happy to get it at a good price.

I used bitfloor. I wired money in. Sold at $221 and ACH wired my money back to my checking account. Easy money. Now just have to pay capital gains tax. No problem.

But scarcity does not equal value. Bitcoins only utility is as a currency.

Technically with paper dollars, you can burn them to keep warm, you can smoke them as rolling papers, you can even wipe your ass with them.

I mined for a while and sold it on BTC-E. Didn't make much, just enough to pay for my computer, definitely a pain in the ass though.
