Gold Star Select ID Program
I saw this on Facebook. Anyone heard of this?

"I feel the need to share this with everyone, because it's something that has been bothering me for awhile, and especially right now... I don't know enough about this, and I'm just hoping to spread some awareness on the issue.

In February, I had to renew my license, and was asked if I wanted a "GOLD STAR" on it, making it a 'compliment federal ID' and not just a regular license.... I presented all the proper papers, SSCard, birth certificate, passport, 2 forms of address proof; and was then handed my new license with a gold star on it. I bought all of my identification papers with me because I didn't know all I needed was just the license, as done in past years.

After that, I went on the DMV website, and researched other sites to find out more about this new "gold star" symbol. I suggest others read the main paragraph on the Connecticut DMV website. What is eerie to me, is the sophisticated language used that I'm finding to basically say, either you have a compliment card- with a gold star by 2017- or a non-compliment card, without one. If a citizen is ever considered being "non-compliment" with the law, against the law, that person can be arrested. Not all states are on board with this new law I guess, but Connecticut is.

In history, when a government wants to completely control its people, such as the Nazi's, a 'gold star' was used to separate the people. Idk what this new symbol will be used for, or it's- convenience- for the people will be... But it is not something happening in speculation, it's occurring now. I don't like jumping to conclusions, but I can only go by what has happened in the past to learn from it. Just raising awareness on this weird new thing might bring some light to what the main purpose behind it will actually be used for. "

"Renewing a Driver's License

PLEASE NOTE: If you are renewing your driver's license ON OR AFTER OCTOBER 3, 2011, you will have the option to verify your identity through the Select CT ID Program. People verifying will get a gold star on the license. Those declining will have one stamped "Not for Federal Identification." The difference could be extra screening under a proposed federal program slated to go into effect in 2017 for airports and federal buildings and also use for possible commercial transactions. For more information, please see the Frequently Asked Questions about the Select CT ID Program."

Looks like they will serve as passports in the future for domestic travel?

Beginning of a national ID I guess. Looks like this was started in 2011.
