But I guess it's my taste of a film, the ones that make you think and re-think and you need to find answers, I have seen it 3 times already and not fed up of it yet. I suggest that you have the right mood to watch it, alone with no interruptions. You must be prepared to get puzzled especially at the beginning. I think it helps if you know that the film is made up of several stories with short scenes from every story mixed up, but all in a way connected. Congrats for the good choice “Our lives are not our own. From womb to tomb, we are bound to others. Past and present. And by each crime and every kindness, we birth our future...” |

And, IMHO, the first thing they did that wasn't an abomination since The Matrix Reloaded. Cloud Atlas was an (and I really hate to use this word) epic story about love enduring across time and space. And, although they heavily relied on CGI, unlike a lot of other modern films, the CGI didn't pull me out of the story every 3 minutes. I wouldn't watch it over and over, but it was good enough to buy on Blu-ray and watch a couple times a year. |
