Why was there no electromagnetic pulse if it was nuclear? Or was the prediction just that it would be reported "like a nuke"?

It took 3 months for the media to admit that the Fukushima explosion was nuclear and that was a clear cut case. This one could go on well past the time everyone in that town is dead of cancer.
