–Bush jr, Rumsfeld, Cheney, Condi, Steve Hadley, Elliot Abrams, Gen. David Petraeus, Jose Rodriguez [head of CIA Covert operations], John Brennan, David Addington [WH staff], all approved the use of severe interrogation methods including hypothermia, waterboarding, stress positions, abdominal beatings, genital torture, and other bodily and psychological harm according to Department of Justice Concurrence of Attorney General John Ashcroft as written in the paper by John Yoo. Also concurring to these aforementioned methods were NSA Director General Michael Hayden, SecState Collin Powell, and DCI George Tenet .
–The only official to dissent officially and was subsequently reprimanded was Philip Zelikow, PhD who wrote a memo contesting the DOJ’s Torture Memo written by John Yoo and others in “Justice”.
– Karl Rove told BBC in 2010: ”I’m proud that we kept the world safer than it was, by the use of these techniques. They’re appropriate, they’re in conformity with our international requirements and with US law”.

In the most ambitious effort so far by an independent, bipartisan group to assess American detention and interrogation programs after the 9/11 terrorist attacks, a Constitution Project panel has concluded that “it is indisputable that the United States engaged in the practice of torture” in its treatment of detainees.

In its 577-page report, the panel said the brutality was unique in U.S. history because of the “considered and detailed discussions that occurred after 9/11 directly involving a president and his top advisers on the wisdom, propriety and legality of inflicting pain and torment on some detainees in our custody,” the New York Times (reg. req.) recounts.

The panel said there is no justification for torture and said there is no persuasive evidence that what the U.S. did produced any valuable information that could not have been obtained through less objectionable means.

The word games played are such an insult. It is not torture, it is enhanced interrogation. Right, whatever.

These TORTURE tactics are nothing new. They have been around for a long time.

The only thing new is not calling them what they are. TORTURE.

Did anyone watch the documentary on Cheney which was aired on TV. There is something seriously wrong with that guy. In the face of what we are all facing in this world and to make that documentary and say those things just makes me shake my head and say I am glad I am not that evil. Although I have my share of problems he is twisted. What is scary is the amount of power he has.

I believe it was called THE LIFE ACCORDING TO CHENEY.
