Reporters are being told to move away from the scene. A police officer told a reporter: "If you want to live, turn off your cell phone." "Just in... The police are planning to move around form the left behind the gunman..." Gunman: "Good to know!" I suppose there is also a small chance of a bomb being detonated that way, but that's getting into the realm of science fiction. The odds off accidentally calling the number of the burner phone used is astronomical. There doesn't seem to be a good reason for the statement, but maybe one of the police officers is simply having an action movie moment and thought it sounded cool? They are under a tiny bit of stress, so maybe they just weren't thinking clearly about how others would take it? |

Real time incident reporting could be it, would help with damage control to- even if the shooters aren't using social media. Yeah the kill quote would have been stress, when I replied I was re-reading it as the police force..
