Elton John: An Epic Transformation From Cool to Fool
He has completed his work for the illuminati by torturing generations with his music.
Now they shall dispose of him.
Mwahahaa.

You must be well under 40 years old. At some point (maybe when he sobered up) Elton John somehow completed the strangest, most dramatic transition from being a paragon of coolness to a total pantload in the history of pop culture.

You could say Harrison Ford is sullying his former image of coolness by wearing an earring (WTF? is he trying to look like a dweeb?) and running around with that garish stick figure Calista Flockhart. And you could certainly say that George Lucas went from cool to super-fool when he introduced us to Jar Jar Binks and the rest of that hot mess of a so-called film.

Fine. That doesn't even come close to the self-annihilation accomplished by "Sir" Elton John. Elton's fall is more comparable to the rapid disintegration of a once great civilization (think Apocalypto).

I'm half-inclined to believe he may have actually been killed and replaced with some kind of dorkface double, a la Paul McCartney.

Interestingly, both Elton John and Paul McCartney accepted "knighthood" from the Queen nazi-lizard ... an "honor" that marks one as a supreme "sell out" to all that is good and decent in humaity.

Can't you just like the good music he did make?

Madman Across the Water is good.

Indian Sunset is very moving.

Have Mercy on the Criminal is like an emo movie in your head when you listen to it.

I dunno. I listened to his stuff in the 70's along with Stevie Wonder to just get thru' the disco crappola that was mainstreamed.
That was a really bad decade for music.

No offense to the few outstanding artists who also endured that Donny & Marie/Captain N Tennelle barf fest.

Yes, Elton is fat and old and is a bit crazy. He might have to wear diapers, as you alluded to in your post.
So what?

He made some music that I STILL like.

Throw him a bone.

Goodbye Yellow Brick Road was brill.
I find the fact he was able to adopt a baby with his partner....pretty weird and offensive though.

The incremental social acceptance of gay lifestyles, rather than seeing them for what they really are, unnatural, aberrant, foul ways of living your life.

True.

But the guy probably has great gobs of money. What do you do with all that money?

I know what I would do.

But Elton is by now unhealthy and mental.
He needs an heir to carry on his name and fame, I suppose.
I think they have 2 children now, right?

I never think of him as he is now, I like to think of him as he WAS.

He made some good tunes (mainly penned by his Svengali associate, Bernie Taupin) but he fucked it all up for me when he came out as a flaming bender, and adopted kids.

That's just not on, in my book.

+1

Those poor kids will be scarred for life, and will probably turn out as benders, shirt-lifters and carpet-munchers.

Re: Elton John: An Epic Transformation From Cool to Fool
I listened to Elton John growing up. He was an amazing artist...and the writing of Bernie Taupin was unmatched
.

Best concert ever ...Elton John on Halloween night at the Aladdin in Vegas...1980. yah.. a long time ago. His live performance was astounding .

Elton John has turned into a freak of sorts. It is sad. He was one of the best pianists, entertainers there ever has been...now he is so twisted fake ...that HE HIMSELF doesn't recognize how fucked up he is.

that is the sign of oblivion. Like a truly insane person cannot understand that he is mentally ill.

he's lost it...like a sort of zombie now.
