Anonymous Coward User ID: 3021656 Canada 04/22/2013 11:18 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | my girlfriend is adamant she wants her dog to attend our wedding. Quoting: HERMAN 38669059 she has made a black tuxedo with a white body suit and a black bow tie for her mongrel dog. I don't think dogs should attend weddings. she wants a small table with dog food bowl set up in front of the bridal table. I am worried guests will be disgusted Dog-tard - let me guess. IT's a tiny dog that she carry in her purse. You are less important then her dog in her eyes. Drop her. :CATFAIL112: |
recollector User ID: 26964049 United Kingdom 04/22/2013 11:23 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The dog is as important to her as you are...but if you force her to CHOOSE between you and the dog, you will lose instantly. My advice? If you love her, you must accept what she wants. That dog is like a child to her.Sounds crazy for heartless people, but this is the truth. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 23648021 Australia 04/22/2013 11:30 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Depends how long she has had the dog for, how big/small it is, and his tempament. If its only a puppy like say 6 weeks to 6 months, then I would be on your side, you don't want a puppy running around the place, jumping up on everyone, chewing on shoes and pulling down table cloths plus leaving little presents everywhere.... Stand your ground and say NO. However if the dog is a year or older, on the medium to small side, very well house trained and loves people then I don't see a problem with him ONLY going to the ceremony and being in photos, obviously your GF loves her dog very much and wants it to be a part of her and your special day. If it doesn't meet any of the above the answer is NO BUT having his own table and food bowl at the ceremony is going a bit too far in any circumstances! |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 34273748 United States 04/22/2013 11:31 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This isn't really that crazy of a request on her part. Dogs become like members of the family. People get really attached. Not sure if you've ever had a dog, OP but I'm going to assume that you haven't as you don't seem to possess any understanding of the situation. People take dogs to weddings all the time. It's really not a big deal. It's going to be a special day for her and she wants everyone that she loves to share day with you guys, including the dog apparently. Just be a man, and don't give a shit about it. Make her happy, because honestly who really cares? It's a dog at a wedding. Everything's going to be fine. All the immature dicks on this site will probably tell you to dump her, or call her a bitch and try to sound as manly and macho as they can as they pat your back and tell you you're absolutely right. You shouldn't listen to them. They lack empathy and the ability to understand the situation from any side other than "Feelings are for fags! Fuck that bitch and her stupid dog." |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 12631984 United States 04/22/2013 11:43 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Be a man, stop being a pussy. Put your foot down and say you can have one of the following two things at your wedding. 1. Dog 2. Groom Take your pick. BTW you're fucked either way. Since you will be forced to walk the dog in its darling outfit she chooses. And because the dog gets "cold" it will be wearing something stupid at all times in public. I would hope that she picks the dog so you have an easy way out. |

Earth Daughter User ID: 37466251 United States 04/22/2013 11:49 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I love my pet too, but, I don't think it's a good idea to bring it to a wedding. I don't believe the event will have any significance to the dog, if he even remembers it afterward at all, and it will distract guests and you two away from the true meaning of the event. This is about you two and not the dog. Whining and begging guests for their food might irritate them as well. Not everyone at the wedding will love the furry beast as much as she does. Some people, who may have donned their best dress/pants for the occasion, do not want dogs jumping up on their legs, getting them dirty. It won't be 'cute' to them. Go ahead and let her read these posts. Maybe she'll reconsider. Surely you knew she was this type of person before you proposed? I can tell you if she already made the tux, it's GONNA happen no matter what you say or do.
