My thoughts on terrorism
This may be a little long winded and drawn out, but if you don't want to read it, don't. Please don't tell me it's too long for you to read, because I don't care. These are my thoughts that I wanted to get out after seeing everything that is going down after the Boston bombings, and I would like to share them, and thought this would be a good place to do that.

Ever since the world trade center buildings were taken down I have heard from multiple politicians that the terrorists "Hate us because of our freedoms, and will stop at nothing to take them away." What I have seen since then is multiple laws enacted by our own politicians, American citizens that they are, that take away the rights that our forefathers gave their lives to make sure we would have.

It doesn't matter how many people these "terrorists" kill, they will never be able to take away the rights that our forefathers wrote into the constitution. They will never be able to write policy through bombing innocent people, they will never be able to change the constitution through killing innocent people. The only way our rights can be taken away from us is through the fear they put into our politicians to make THEM change the constitution.

Politicians are the ones who will make the policy changes to take away the rights OUR FOREFATHERS GAVE THEIR LIVES TO GAIN. Why should we give them up because of fear? If we give up the freedoms, that the terrorists hate so much, isn't that playing right into their hands? How do we win by giving up freedoms, that the terrorists hate us for? It is a losing situation.

They never hated us for our freedoms. They hate us for our foreign policy of going into the middle east and instituting regime changes that are beneficial to the United States. We go to these countries and bomb away their infrastructure that they spent the last 100 years building and act like we did it all in the name of peace. If somebody comes up to you, points a gun at you, and says "I come in peace", are you going to believe them? If your country was bombed endlessly by somebody else, to the point where you no longer have electricity, are you going to believe that is a peaceful country? This countries foreign policy is a joke. I love the freedoms this country enables me to have, but I see those freedoms slowly being encroached upon in the name of security.

Thomas Jefferson said " Those willing to give up liberty for security deserve neither and will lose both." Our politicians would be wise to hear this message loud and clear right now, before they cause an all-out fight for the freedoms we were granted more than 200 years ago. I do not fear these "terrorists". The people I fear are the ones that were "elected" to run this country over the last 100 years. They have done nothing but make us weak against our enemies, by giving them reasons to want to kill us, by giving away our money production to a private entity, by building an empire of military bases around the world that makes the rest of the world feel like they need to build the same kind of military presence.

The United States of America has been under a perpetual state of war since well before I was born. Now we've got the "War on Terror". What is the endgame for the"War on Terror"? All the terrorists dead? Everytime we kill a terrorist, we breed another. Do you really think the Mother is going to tell the child "You're daddy was a terrorist and that is why the Americans killed him."? What I see happening is the mother saying "You're daddy was fighting against the "evil" Americans that want to take over our country and died in the process." Thus another "terrorist" born, because he wants to follow in daddys footsteps, and fight against the "evil" Americans.

We as a whole are in no way evil. We love one another, for the most part. We are willing to give everything we can to help out when another person is really struggling with something. We have shown this time and time again in the past. I'm seeing it less and less nowadays though. We are becoming focused on FEAR. Over the last 12 years, the media has spread fear throughout this country so bad, that people are willing to give up their freedoms that were granted to us over 200 years ago, for a little bit of security. I hope you will not stand down against the tyrants in Washington, that WILL attempt to take away those freedoms.

If a terrorist is someone that wants to take away our freedoms, like these politicians claim, then the people in Washington are the biggest terrorists of all.
