Yes, Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven. Don't let anybody tell you otherwise. People have the false notion, as I did, that if your a "good" person you'll go to heaven. This means no Jesus is necessary, or you have the capability to save yourself. But then we think to ourselves "Wow I've done some pretty messed up things in my life... but hopefully all the good things will counter balance all the bad things".

God says "We are all infected and impure with sin. When we display our righteous deeds, they are nothing but filthy rags. Like autumn leaves, we wither and fall, and our sins sweep us away like the wind." Isaiah 64:6

In other words even our best or greatest deeds are still impure to him. We have no chance in saving ourselves. Sin has so pervasively entered the world that nothing is left untouched. How lucky are we to then have someone, Jesus Christ, who lived the perfect sin-less life who will stand in our place in Judgement when all we deserve is God's wrath. Jesus has already took upon him all our past, present, and future, sins on the cross. All of it. He is our sole mediator.

"For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom..." 1 Timothy 2:5-6.

Just believe in him, please, that's all it takes. There is no greater gift that can be bestowed upon you than eternal life. Which only God, through Jesus Christ, can offer you.

Sure. He says all sin will be forgiven in this age or the next, so basically Jesus keeps nobody from the father.

Yes He is the only way. But it is a personal matter between us and God, how the way will look like for each of us. What God put in our hearts we will do without any efforts from our side. But the work is to figure out our sins all the time in thought, speach and in doings and repent of anything of failours and shortcomings that is inevitable all along. Then we must show him to be better to trust Him that He will lead us into the situations and resolve them in cooperation with Him. This is our service.

John 3:13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.

The Master Himslef said this. So, whoever is teaching that one goes to heaven after death needs to really study the Word of the Highest.

The Bible speaks of the resurrection of the dead. Also the Lord's prayer specifically says "Thy Kingdom come" and not "I go".
