Here is yet another example of idiotic over-reactions by police and schools. With all of the violence promoted in video games, on TV and in movies - doesn't anyone think they should start there rather then graphics on tee shirts?

A man wearing a novelty t-shirt with a sexually charged message was arrested Saturday after refusing a police order to leave a South Carolina park due to “the shirt with that phrase on it,” according to investigators. Michael Miller, 50, was spotted “with a shirt that read ‘I May Not Be Mr. Right But I’ll Fuck You ‘Til He Shows Up,’” according to a Spartanburg Department of Public Safety report.

Eighteen-year-old Matt Zingarella told WTNH-TV that he was exercising his free speech rights by wearing the shirt to school Monday, but he was immediately asked to change it.

The shirt has a picture of a gun that’s banned in Connecticut and a statement that says, “I plead the second,” referring to Second Amendment gun rights. Zingarella says he was expressing his frustration with new state gun laws.

Zingarella says it doesn’t appear the shirt is banned by the school dress code.

School officials say the dress code does ban such shirts because they can disrupt the educational process.

Wow, this is even more ridiculous than the guy yesterday arrested and had his car searched by a bomb robot at a mall in phili simply for wearing camo.


The hysterical morans are going to cause a big problem one day, and truly innocent people will be harmed/killed.

The cops should raid every car repair shop in the country and confiscate all of the weapons in them. All construction workers should turn in their weapons too. Search all junk doors in kitchens for screw divers and hammers. We must protect the children.

The fact remains that it was just a fucking pocket knife I mean it was a discussion on tools, a pocket knife is a tool. This is outrageous and if you don't think it is you need to do some serious thinking as to how far your going to let them take this.

We carry pocket knives around all the time as tools here on the farm and in the cars. This is an essential tool to have unless you want to use your teeth... which aren't that effective with twine, twigs, in gardening, opening up packages, etc.

boah, i cannot believe this is happening.

i mean last week i was in a big "mall" here and gathering for suitable kitchen knifes. they even have these ultra sharp japanese steel whatever knifes presented for anybody to touch and pick up (show room with various tourist floating).

my mate said to me:
in the u.s. those knives would be chained, because it could be a security risk to anybody. if you're coming close to one, you would be tazered by one of the 5 security guards.

Yes I carry mine everyday, and you know what it saves a lot of time, and it has multiple uses. I probably use mine 20 or 30 times a day, and it has multiple uses other than just cutting like, prying, scraping, digging out splinters, flip it around and tighten the odd flat head screw, etc. Since I started carrying it I often wonder how I ever managed without it.

The article left the reason for the suspension, the pocket knife, out of the article so it would seem unreasonable. Pocket knives aren't allowed in Chicago schools. Yes it is ridiculous he was suspended and yes they went too far but everyone is getting worked up about 'garden tools' when that was not why he was suspended. This has already been copied to other forums without mentioning the knife. Get the facts before you post (I know that isn't liked around here).

A kid's first knife is a rite of passage. When our oldest got his first pocketknife it was a big deal for both him and my husband.

Take away those rituals because of fear and you get a generation of pussies who truly believe that carrying around an invaluable tool is somehow backward and wrong.

If i think back to the last ten people I saw or knew that were wearing camo, 9 are nuts/extreme/need to be investigated. Some that I've known for a long time ARE nuts and continually spout anti anything and talk about living off the land yet have no jobs to acquire the necessary goods to start. 2 (meth heads) live in 10-15ft trailers on grandparents/parents property and contribute nothing to society except uneasiness.
These 2 plus one (heroine junkie) other I know that lives in his grandmother's basement are on some kind of pharmaceuticals too. One that shows up at a local pub a couple of times at the end and beginning of each month looks like he lives out of his car. He sits alone and sucks 3 beers done in a half an hour then periodically gives out an war hoop at random customers for a few hours while nursing a half dozen whiskey cokes. All this while he's on what looks to be a 1990's style walkie talkie box phone. My own 61 year old brother has camo pajama bottoms that he wears all the time and rarely goes out because he can't handle people and hasn't had a job since the 90's. He is becoming crazier and refuses to go see a doctor and now has recently became homeless after not paying his mortgage for 8 yrs. It's pretty sad being as nobody including his own mother or kids will take him in being as he just can no longer be trusted. Camo pants wearing knuckleheads are the worst and most likely are the most medicated (or should be), the angriest, homeless AND spout a continual barrage of anti anything. The one person I know that likes wearing a camo hat n shirt on weekends is an avid hunter and has held down a good Boeing job for over 20 yrs. He actually has a life with wife and kids. So yeah...most camo wearing morAns should have an eye kept on them and more than likely if they're stopped and searched, police will find either meth, heroine, perscriptions that don't belong to them, warrants for those drugs or domestic violence offenses as well as any number of other minor traffic offenses. I've had this discussion with many people over the years AND most always, the camo wearing guys DO have some kind of problem/s. So...unless you're fresh out of the military or hunt for a living, leave your camo clothes at home for working in the yard. People don't trust you.
