According to WLDS, a radio station in Jacksonville, IL 5 people were killed in a shooting and another person injured. Now authorities at the Scott County Sheriff’s Department say one person is in custody.
Classes are cancelled in three Scott County, Illinois school districts: Northgreene, Winchester and Jacksonville districts. Approximately 950 students are affected.

How are those Illinois gun control laws working?

Five people have been killed and one injured in a shooting in the US state of Illinois. The suspect is reportedly in custody.

Multiple people were shot during the incident, which happened in the town of Manchester.

A child has been taken to a hospital in Springfield, Illinois, as a result of a gunshot wound.

The murders happened inside a public housing complex, the pastor of Manchester Baptist Church told NewsChannel 5.

Several nearby schools are on lockdown.

The incident has been confirmed by Illinois state police and the mayor of Manchester.

Manchester is located 85 miles north of St. Louis.

Yes he is mastiff and st.Bernard mixed she is Red nosed Pitt and American Bulldog she has never sat on the ground he has let her do that since she was a pup! He is such a good boy the best disposition and she is the Princess. lol.

Mayor Ronald Drake says he got the call around 4:45 a.m. saying there had been a shooting with multiple fatalities. Now authorities at the Scott County Sheriff’s Department say one person is in custody.
The mayor did not say who the victims were or given any details about the suspect.
Classes were cancelled in three area school districts: Northgreene, Winchester and Jacksonville. Approximately 950 students are affected.
The Illinois State are planing a news conference for this morning.

This is really terrible, I'm wodering if it was some type of domestic dispute or if the kids were accidental. Probably another mentally ill person.

CHICAGO (CBS) – Five people are dead in the downstate town of Manchester.

Illinois State police confirmed the deaths. All of the bodies were found in a house and had been shot, according to preliminary police reports.

The shootings happened late Tuesday night in a home on Fourth Street.

The names and ages of the victims aren’t available. Their relationship also was not immediately known, but state police spokeswoman Monique Bond said they could be from the same family.

why lockdown schools in 2 counties
when no schools were threatened ??

this happened at an apartment complex.
no threat to any schools but it makes
nice big headlines which TPTB will
use to their advantage in the MSM.

They did not lockdown the schools...they cancelled school ...and the areas we are talking about are all within 20 minutes of one another...
I am glad they decided to not have school in regards to this...suspect was running/not caught at that time..

I would have been pissed if they had school, knowing this perp was on the loose and then locked my children in the school...


ETA.. ya, it makes a better story if they embellish it a bit, especially when it comes to guns...
Deciding to cancel school for the day, as opposed to locking them down is a huge difference...and makes people scared...not as much drama for them...;(

I agree with you and it took them a few hours to catch him if they hadn't cancelled school what a nightmare that was a very smart move on Mayors part.
