It's like they think we all have the same definition of beauty.

She is better than a fat man in a thong, in my opinion, and she definitely fits the societal/media stereotype of female beauty... skinny, blonde and all that... so I'm not surprised... but I don't really find her deeply beautiful. I prefer less of a "washed out" tone of skin/hair eyes, and more "character," something memorable that stands out about her face. I find her very forgettable looking, like a sim composite of a bunch of "Hollywood beautiful" women.

The very beautiful people to me, don't look like a composite of other people. They have something or some things about them which stand out. Think of that national geographic photo of that woman with the incredible eyes. To me that's so much more beautiful than this sort of empty Hollywood prettiness. (I can't even say Barbie prettiness because she seems even skinnier than Barbie).

Also, what about the dudes, who is the hottest man of the year? This is 2013 right... it should have both.

And not to mention that if they really did manage to look like her it would look like a stick thin zombie invasion hit town, no thanks. She is not ugly as a single individual, but no reason for them all to look like her... or more generally, look the same as each other. There is no one type of female beauty, there are many. I'm reasonably sure she doesn't have a tan though... as I recall she's very pale, so they might not hit the tanning beds after all. At least that's an upside... nothing like fried skin and carcinoma to look seductive (???)... the worst is when their skin is darker than their hair, they look like a photo negative of a person.

For the most part, beauty is subjective.

However, Paltrow has a fresh, timeless beauty. I like that the magazine - since they insist on projecting their concept of beauty - chose someone older - and less "amazonian" than has been pushed on society from media.
